Where in the OP did he/she confuse the distinction of "where profits are realized" and the "location of work?"
The second he confused Apple's decision to open a data center in Nevada with having anything whatsoever to do with the cash management activity of Braeburn.

No. He said they were moving the cash to Nevada. And he was wrong.

You're like the third or forth person to get this wrong.
Yet another typical right wing "bad habit"... whenever they fail, its always someone else's fault (and no doubt we're all gonna hear a lot of that come November...)!
Another dopey and misleading winger thread. Apple ain't moving anywhere, they're merely opening a data center in Sparks, NV. So if it were just about "taxes", they'd move the whole campus there too.
But unike most things in the simple-minded right wing universe, there's always much more to it than that. Like for example choosing to locate the headquarters for your hi-tech biz where the smart people are, and where they wanna live (oh, and where the money is... duh)!
The world's largest hedge fund is not located in the top floor of some shiny, floor-to-ceiling glass clad skyscraper in New York, London, Hong Kong or Shanghai. It isn't in some sprawling mansion in Greenwich or Stamford which houses a state of the art trading desk behind a crocodile-filled moat. Instead it can be found in tiny, nondescript office in Suite 225 located on 730 Sandhill Road in Reno, Nevada.
"That's not possible" one may say - the world's largest hedge fund is Ray Dalio's Bridgewater, which at last check had about $100 billion in AUM (and which has so far had a less than stellar performance in 2012, underperforming the S&P by a substantial margin). Turns out it is: the fund which was at $117.2 billion as of June 30, and which has lately been growing at a pace of about $15 billion per quarter (which would put it at about $130 billion currently), is none other than Braeburn Capital, a Nevada-based asset management corporation

Hey, if you're so smart, why don't you go up there and see if you can get a job (although I suspect they're seeking a little better "qualifications" than simply clinical narcissism and posting on C-D)?!
California attracts the most educated and talented people that is why companies like Apple and Google choose to stay there. It's worth paying higher taxes. People don't understand that much of the tax dollars goes into all the parks, transportation and just overall makes the quality of life better.
If they are that talented can you explain the current economic catastrophe they are dealing with. I could argue that they are the most pompous self righteous folks in the nation.

Structural political dysfunction and idiots in office.
