Interesting that Lyin' Ryan is warning of Obama's gun control policies in his second term...because Obama HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING CONCERNING GUN CONTROL IN HIS FIRST TERM! Another boogeyman lie.

Quote:
But during his political career, Romney clashed with the NRA during separate runs for U.S. Senate and governor in Massachusetts. In fact, Romney was a prominent Republican voice for gun control, and even limited the use of assault weapons while governor of Massachusetts.

In the wake of the Colorado movie theater shooting last Friday, some politicians and advocates have renewed the call for the candidates to define where they stand on gun control. As Romney's speech to the NRA this year indicates, the Republican presidential candidate has hardened his position on gun rights since taking the national stage.

The flip-flop was prominent fodder for Romney's Republican opponents in both the 2008 and 2012 presidential primaries. Opposition research for Sen. John McCain's 2008 campaign, obtained by BuzzFeed, cites Romney's 1994 run for a U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts against Sen. Ted Kennedy, during which Romney took a stance that put him at odds with the NRA — and insisted that he didn't care.

Romney's the only guy in the race that has actually signed legislation that banned guns.

A very naive statement that ignores non legislative rules and regs which may impacy gun ownership, component manufacture, penaties by regulations imposed on insurance companies that raise rates of insurance if guns are in the home. Questionairre by doctors using federal questionairres asking if guns are in the home. Retention of old regs issude before computers and not updated which effectively make purchasing a firearm a herculean ordeal. Rules by libs that make passing thru Mass on the way to Maine to hunt you have to call ahead of time and lett Mass know if you will be carrying a pistol in your trunk to hunt with in Maine.

Federal regs of federal lands which may dissallow use of firearms in designated areas. Lands purchased with certain federal funds are off limits to hunting. A rule which has been ignored but sits as a waiting time bomb for a rabid regulatory czar.

If you are bequeath a pistol in another state, federal law and many states laws say, 'you legally own that gun'. when you call state police regulators they don't answer or return calls or give you isolated information that they refuse to document. You want a pistol bequeathed to you bt a PA resident and live in NJ, you have to have an fed firearm lic dealer send the gun you already own to say NJ. The ffl in NJ will not hand over the gun you already legally own unless you get a permit to purchase a pistol. An endurance test played with the local cops who can drag out the process for several months. then you pay a 100$$$ transfer fee. Before you walk out of the store the ffl runs your drivers license#, ignoring the firearms id card and duplicate processed permit to purchase a pistol to further check your eligibility to take the pistol.

Laws alreay ion the books can easily be interpreted by liberal lawyers to make them something they never were intended to be.

so no, you don't need new laws just old laws re-interpreted by herds of Obama supported czars and lawyers.

If you use legislation as the flag to indicate obama is in favor of gun rights or against gun ownwrship, shame on you!

Obama is the master of 'see this', raising one fist, then saying, 'feel this' striking with the other.

As NJ resident you're complaining about MA gun laws? Seriously? can you cite one single example of Mass failing to honor FOPA and arresting someone for passing through with a firearm? As a Mass. resident of I inherit a firearm from out of state I go and pick it up and bring it back. End of story.

As a state senator Obama voted against a bill that provided protection for people that used a firearm in their home in self defense. What planet do you live on? That happened on earth.

The NRA endorses Romney/Ryan. NRA-PVF Endorses Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for President and Vice President

Obama calls for measures against gun violence:

"The president blamed “politics and lobbying” for defeating gun-control measures when outcries arise after mass shootings in the U.S. And he said the nation’s attention should not just be focused on mass shootings, such as the one on Friday in Aurora, Colo., but on the daily shooting deaths of youths from gun violence in major cities."

Cox: Obama to Congress: I'll decide what's constitutional:

"Election season is here, and you might think President Obama would be going out of his way to show voters that he can be trusted with the powers of the presidency. But you would be wrong. Just a few days before Christmas, Obama served notice to all Americans that he will continue to abuse executive privilege by seeking new ways to vilify gun owners and further his anti gun agenda."

Gun control opponents are wise to fear Obama:

"In the important 2008 District of Columbia v. Heller case, four members of the court actually said that the Second Amendment recognizes a right to keep and bear arms but only as part of an organized state militia, such as the National Guard. Five justices said that people have an individual right to keep and bear arms, striking down the D.C. law that outlawed handgun ownership even in the home. This draconian D.C. law was similar to one in Chicago, Obama's adopted hometown. Obama supported that law, which the Supreme Court, in McDonald v. Chicago, struck down as well. Case closed? Hardly. If voters give Obama four more years, he will likely have two or more Supreme Court vacancies. One or two more left wing justices, like Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, can flip a 5 4 Heller case the other way."

Obama's budget is a sneak attack on our Second Amendment freedoms:

"Ever since taking office, President Barack Obama has tried desperately to convince gun owners and sportsmen that he supports the Second Amendment. But actions speak louder than words, and Obama's latest budget proposal contains numerous sneak attacks aimed at the heart of our firearm freedoms."

President Obama's Anti-Gun Agenda Shows No Sign of Stopping:

"President Obama keeps pushing for gun control. "I just want you to know that we are working on [gun control]. We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar,” President Obama told Sarah Brady, the former president of the Brady Campaign, this past spring."

So what? He doesn't really mean it.

We all know no one is going to take away your right to own a gun. How silly.

Just like Romney vowing to overturn Roe V Wade...... he doesn't really mean it.....just playing to the base.

Just like Ryan and his Sanctitiy of Life Act....everyone KNOWS it will never pass.....don't worry.

Gun control is a non-issue, just like abortion rights......"IT'S ABOUT THE ECONOMY....STUPID".

I think it was Obama's desire from the beginning to usurp major wedge issues like gun control. Plus it's been a losing issue for the left for years and mainstream Democrats know this. I'm still not sure what Obama wants to do in his second term, tho. He hasn't articulated much about his second term goals. With no future electoral interests conflicting him, he might pursue some more hard-core liberal legislation, but I doubt gun control would be one of them.
