No, it is a great thing that more people are working. What is sad is the numbers they way they are manipulated during an election period.

LOL! What a bunch of crap! Let me get this straight: Just two weeks ago they reported a sorry a$$ number; then Obama's foreign policy comes home to roost; then he does horribly in the debate causing the race to become a dead heat . . . but - OH WAIT! We made a mistake on that unemployment number!! LOL! Wow . . . just pathetic.

There is no fixing, you just don't understand how the numbers work Edward. Not trying to insult you, but you don't.

There is a reason Wall Street is rallying on this. People with decades of experience and analying these numbers are saying this is a VERY VERY good report.

I'll give you one number to look at out of dozens in the report to help you on your way: 582k part-time jobs were created, so those numbers move from U-3 to U-6. Throw in the upward revisions from the last two months, and the numbers are within the possible error tolerance of the survey.

Plus the massive revisions are showing that the last several months have under reported job creation significantly, so the error is most likely in that survey vs. the household survey.

All the financial media sources were predicting a RISE in unemployment as late as last night.

114,000 new jobs cannot possibly lower the UE rate from 8.2 to 7.8.

This doesn't pass the smell test.

I'm sure we can all agree this is good news. Right?
No we cannot,
U-6 a more accurate percentage rate when considering unemployment levels is unchanged at 14.7%.

YOu are gullible .

No -- I'm just holding my cheering for when the government handout programs are slashed. And with this wonderful news, there is absolutely no reason not to cut the handouts back now.

It's not good news until the handouts are cut back. When we don't have 80% of the kids here where I live on food stamps and Medicaid - otherwise what good does it do the taxpayers?

The BLS report says 456,000 dropped off the unemployement rolls.
Is this because they got jobs or is this because they ran out of benefits and are no longer counted ?

With everything I see around me and read, this BLS report just doesn't make sense.

Well, if you are unwise enough to put any stake in a fraudulant number then yes, its the first time in four years.

but I know you cannot be saying that with a straight face.

Especially when U-6 held steady at 14.7%

Yeah, didn't UE hold steady at nearly 15%?
