So how does this work.

If you happen to have four kids and a big mortgage then maybe your deductions/credits make it so Mitt and his income tax rate are okay since his rate his higher, but if you have no kids and rent then your higher income tax rate makes it not fair what Mitt pays?

How can he be indexed to one person's tax rate to judge whether he's a problem?

Maybe its just me. The panhandle isn't Miami, but it was hit by the housing bubble pretty hard. Close friend of mines house dropped from a high of 550,000 for a 3 bedroom house, now he's down to 192,000 or so. Of course he doesn't care, he's lived there forever, and bought the house for 5 figures, not 6.
This is U3. In FL they already have severe COL issues. Super high insurance is one of them. Different areas do vary. Trying to own a house or car gets very expensive. The McJobs really don't cover it. So you end up with extreme class division and an economy with a poor foundation. Things have improved, but many, many businesses are still suffering with numbers that are down. There is a push to totally rethink the old retiree tourist thing.
Florida's unemployment rate unchanged at 8.8 percent - Tampa Bay ...

Hang in there everybody and watch closely what happens in the next month to all those jobs that supposedly came into being in September.

Why are they all "left leaners"? Is that just because you assume that everyone that is not an old right-wing white guy is automatically a "left leaner"?

I'm certainly not a "left leaner", I'm an "upper" on the political spectrum, as Libertarianism is smack in the middle and up high in the political spectrum. Being a progressive is NOT the same thing as being a leftist.

But then again, anyone who doesn't agree with your pre-1960s outlook on life is automatically a Communist...

In some states , they aren't.

Florida uses Gentiva payroll, most of its outsourced to India. You can thank Wall Street for that. An MBA and CPA on the other forum has noted that Intl. licensing/Acctng certification standards is going global now, so all acctng can be outsorced.

All Bank of America and Wells Fargo Ops are primarily outsourced as well.

We own a real estate company and property management and hear on a daily base people losing their homes due to foreclosure, short sales and not just because of the loss in value but due to cut in working hours, lost their job.....

Tenants who move out overnight or having to be evicted is also not a strange thing anymore due losing their job....Tenant

Very strange to hear of all the new jobs.....maybe another desperate thing to help Obama.....
It can help her job prospects if she goes around gets work experience. It would increase her chances of getting a job. A vast majority of jobs out there seem to look for people that have experience. They don't really care so much on what Degree a person has.

I can tell you the area I lived in, the cost of living wasn't much different from where I'm at now. Electric bill was a lot less, water bill was about the same, housing prices are about the same if you don't live on the water.

Really, not that different.

Huh?

If you make $15,000,000 a year, you should pay an equal or higher % in tax than if you make $55,000 a year. Pretty freaking simple. This past year Mitt Romney paid only 13% while I paid 20%, yet he made vastly more money than I did...no matter which political party you belong to that should be a problem.

Most deductions benefit the rich far more than they benefit the poor, so eliminate them for all incomes over the national GDP/Capita average. There is no reason...not one single reason...why someone with $200,000,000 in wealth should take a single penny in income tax deductions. It's wrong, both morally and fiscally. How can you have a healthy economy when the system is set up to give the richest people the most loopholes? I'm not talking about some kind of Socialist redistribution, I'm talking about a fair tax like the Steve Forbes one (though with higher rates of 22%), which WAS a Republican ideal before the idiots took over the party.

I have a job right now, but it's a pretty unstable industry, meaning I never know how much I'm going to be working. It's my dream industry, it's just not an easy one to pay the bills. I'm trying to find more steady, higher paying jobs in the same field but it's a very who you know type of business. Most places don't list openings.

My degree is in Political Science, and have had no luck with those prospects, despite living near Washington, D.C. I just don't look great on paper, and can't compete with PH.Ds and lawyers for Congressional/Fed jobs or non-profits.
