I frequently review what I write. Perhaps that contributes to my ability to articulate the irrationality in other posts rather than using irrational personal attacks.

The government is not capable of making any promises about benefits; the Supreme Court ruled on it. So, yes; it's their own fault.

And killed or wounded them, about 35,000 of them.

Didn't the investigation of the My Lai massacre reveal that U.S. servicemen slaughtering unarmed peasants was extremely common?

But Social Security is okay?

Because that system allows them to keep all their wealth, but all other welfare programs take into account the recipient's property. It's really a despicable system because it's wealth redistribution shrouded in welfare.

Social security is a forced retirement plan -- and for that reason, it's better to leave it alone and instead cut the young able-bodied off their government handouts.

Government assistance for college when people of college age are young and healthy and could work if they wanted to work should be ended. And of course all government handouts to those under age 60 who have two arms and two legs and an IQ over 60 should be ended.

Seriously -- why pick on only those who paid into their program and are now retirement age? Like I said - cut off all government handouts to those under age 60.

It's forced onto the unborn, the victims. However, it's not a forced plan in the traditional sense of forced; the evidence that it's not forced is that altering it is considered the third rail of politics. The elderly thieves are so happy with the opportunity to subsidize their incomes through theft that virtually no politician can mention eliminating the program.

I have no complaints about across the board welfare elimination. But Social Security is a far more evil form of welfare than the others because it's theft from children.

Well -- I'm all for eliminating the Social security program - but every dime people paid in should be returned to them with interest. Meaning what someone paid in at age 16 and it's now 40 years later, there should be interest on that money. A big lump sum repayment to everyone who paid in and then shut the whole thing down.

Eliminate all welfare, college financial aid which we know will never be paid back and use it to maintain the retired who paid into social security. There is plenty of money to pay back the retired but we need to stop supporting all the deadbeats that have never worked for a living.

I just don't understand how that makes sense to you. That SS money was spent by your government (the group of politicians who represented you and the citizens of yesteryear). Why does it seem reasonable to you that today's government, the young, should compensate you for what your government bought?

Generation Y-Work are the children of Baby Boomers. I was born at the very tail end of the Baby Boom and have felt for a long time that they were one of the most selfish generations in American history. They passed their sense of entitlement on to their children.

You are STILL benefitting from what "OUR" government bought... Should we start charging tolls to everyone under a certain age to drive on the roads you drive on? Should we chare a fee for the use of the airports? What about your courthouses that you still use? What about the bridges? The list goes on..

That would be the state selling products and services, and that's communism.

OK,, Then nobody under a given age should be allowed to utilize them since "YOUR" government didn't pay for it... Incidently that would include your water service, your electric service, your sewer service... You didn't pay to construct any of it. You just use it without a thought.
Go ahead and stop using all the infrastructure that was built before your generation. There won't be much for you to use.. You can build a brand new one with the money YOUR government doesn't have.. Your logic is ridiculous.

Most of our federal budget is tied up on spending on old people. This will only get worse as baby boomers age past 66.
