The National debt is down slighly, because Obama is too busy on his pathetic reelection campaign speeches for the debates and can't think of nothing else to do?

You need to get a clue yourself. The stimulus programs were doing next to nothing for our economy. The deficit is going down because the House stopped some of the frivolous spending.

Not that the stimulus was worth a crap, but is the answer more private debt?

So true and with the economy and jobs now DEFINATELY recovering, despite the Republican's and not because of them..... could you imagine what a great position America would be in if our President hadn't had the great recession to deal with and two wars and Republican stalling our President's every move forward..
Bush also knew that stimulus was the only way we could get out of the awful mess he had put the Country in by signing the first stimulus package.
If someone came to your home and virtually destroyed it then it will cost MEGA bucks just to put it back to it's original state........... same with the great recession.
The republican's blockade on America moving forward just to get our President out of office has stopped our recover from moving forward at a quicker rate. Obama tried to negotiate with the right but just hit a brick wall............ the next four years will see Obama and the Democratic party saying 'enough is enough" to the right and telling them..................
"get on board the recovery "train" or stay at the station.... the choice is yours"

I drove to the mountain west last month and the amount of federal Highway work going on in those states Governed by Repub. was amazing. Must have been that stimulus money working through the system.

What sickofnyc fails to grasp is that those obstructionists were sent to DC to obstuct by the voters, many of whom had bought into the hope and change crap two years earlier.

As for the latest arrangement of the Titanic's deck chairs, $200 billion less means we'll hit the ice berg at 11:45 instead of 11:40.

Does that make anyone sleep better at night?

When Bush Jr was in office, we had annaul deficits the size of this decrease and liberals lost their collective minds.

Obama good...Bush bad?
