so then you think a tall 8 year old who has saved his allowance should be able to walk into a bar and buy alcohol? interesting.

i say leave it up to the states to decide, keep the feds out of it COMPLETELY. personally i think the drinking age should be 21, but that is my opinion.

I never saw anyone carded in Japan. Ever. And it was pretty obvious they were teenagers, once. (Gang members, but still, ... perhaps the clerk just didn't want trouble.) Still, cigs and booze were super easy to get and there wasn't a huge stigma/religious NO-NO about it. So it wasn't something that was "off limits." You could buy liquor and cigs from vendng machines. I hear they have added age checkign now. Show your card to the machine or something.

Making something off limits makes it so much more desirable.

18. Old enough to fight and die for this country should be old enough to drink.

No minimum drinking age. I think it causes more problems than it's worth.

It's silly that 21 is the minimum age for drinking legally. Does anyone really believe that people aged 18-21 aren't going to drink alcohol? You're burying your head in the sand if you believe that.

21...We don't need any drunk 18 year old high school seniors driving around.

My State was always 21 while the next State over was 18 for awhile. All the under 21s from my State just crossed State lines and got tanked at 18. If it's 21...18-20 year olds are going to sneak around and get it. If it's 18...14-17 year olds are going to get it.
