This has to be a big blob of oil if a satellite spotted it. NOAA scrubs report from website too. The coverup continues.

"The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating an oily sheen spotted in the Gulf of Mexico last month near the site of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill 40 miles south of the Mississippi River, a spokesman said Wednesday. [...]
The Coast Guard’s National Response Center was first notified of the sheen on Sept. 16 in a report that said it was spotted on satellite imagery, and had not been visually confirmed. [...]
The sheen was later reported on a new National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration web site tracking environmental incidents nationwide. [...]
The report also said BP was sending a vessel equipped with a remotely-operated underwater vehicle to the area to investigate the potential source of oil."

Oil reported at BP’s Macondo Well in Gulf could be coming from “fissures or cracks in sea floor” — NOAA covering up?

Well it is perfectly clear. Obama is covering up to avoid more troubles in the gulf. And he might have to cut back on drilling in deep water which of course Romney would use against him.

Then again maybe Obama is faking the sheen so he can claim the Romney drilling plan would damage the environment.

Well maybe someone smugged a print and this is the result?

Stay tuned. Some RW whacko will bring you some explanation of why it is Obama's fault.

The oil sheen is 4 miles long. The CG took a sample and sent it off for testing. Results in a couple of weeks.

Oil sheen mysteriously appears off Louisiana's Gulf Coast - CNN.com
An oil sheen about four miles long has appeared in the Gulf of Mexico near the site of the worst oil spill in U.S. history, a Coast Guard spokesman said Thursday.

Well if they wouldn't have forced drilling so far out in the first place we wouldn't have to worry about the problems involved in capping a leak that far down. Ever think of that? Of course not.
