Turkey, Syria exchange artillery fire for 5th day - Xinhua | English.news.cn

I seem to remember the Media Monster telling us the Syrian mortar attack on Turkey was just an accident; Syria apologized and promised never to do it again and Turkey's retaliation was... well nevermind that, check out the Presidential Debate! Who won? Cast Your Vote because it Matters!!!!!

What are "they" trying to downplay? Why not blow this out of proportion as usual to beat the war drums against Syria as usual? Normally this would be the excuse needed for a full invasion, which must be in the works or we wouldn't have gone to the trouble of destabilizing the country and helping so many "leaks" of the violence to flow all over the net and build a case for why the Syrian Government has to go.

How do the pieces fit?

Its all a planned action...I bet the first shell that hit Turkey was from the "rebels" and Turkey hit back and now the actual Syrian forces are shelling them back and pretty soon its going to turn into a reason for NATO and the UN to go in.Exactly what the US wants...another war we can't afford.

Good! Let China worry about it, NOT America's problem.

Will be when its the US that's the one setting this up. We need a good reason to invade Syria and attacking a NATO ally is that reason.

But we are helping the poor syrian people and ya know syria has wmd's too. All the same game plan.

In reality we are just funding our enemy like we did in Libya to overthrow syria. The "rebels". LOL

Yep this will get the NATO air support needed to finish the job. Just being put off another month. Game of chess. Iran will be surrounded soon for the final blow. But......but........but.........but..........Obama 's not a war monger. LOL

Pretty sure I read about this on BBC news as soon as it happened. I'm sure Al-Jazeera English has it covered as well.

Edit:

How does this have anything to do with the US? Why would it be a stretch of the imagination for the Syrian military to shell a town in Turkey that they perhaps thought was sheltering rebel forces? Turkey and Syria are longtime enemies, but Turkey is our ally. Please read some history before you make a comment like this.

Yeah, just like we needed a good reason to invade Vietnam, eh? I can only hope that any POTUS who leads us into another easily avoidable war of choice has impeachment papers on his/her desk within 48 hours.

Maybe you should read more?

Depends if it is Congress declaring war, or the President being an Imperial Ruler, with executive orders.
