Wars are for the little people (the 47%) to show their partiotism and help uphold the Saudi Royal family while fattening up the bottom line for Halliburton and Exxon-Mobil. Chicken-Dick Cheney needs his dividends, you know. Might push him to the head of the line again next time he needs another organ transplant. Besides, if it weren't for the rich boys starting wars for the poor kids to fight in, just think how high the unemployment rate would be.
So, think of Romney and the Koch Bros as job creators. They keep telling us they are. And they wouldn't lie about something that vital in the depths of the worst recession in 3 generations, would they?
Of course the sons of rich men like Romney and his 5 healthy service-age sons can't be expected to join in the fight. They have money, prestige, and connections. Much too valuable to be patritotic.
More on the subject from a retired USMC general and two-time Medal of Honor recipient...
"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small 'inside' group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes."
Willard Romney want's to escalate things in Syria, and might delay U.S pullout in Afghanistan.
If you want a republican president, be prepared for more wars, and higher oil prices.
That sucks that we're giving those rebels aid as I really wish we'd stay out of something for once. At least there's hope:
Quote:
Of the $45 million pledged Friday, $30 million is earmarked for humanitarian assistance and $15 million for radios, training and other technical support for opposition activists. The U.S. government has refused to directly arm or fund the so-called Free Syrian Army, a loose confederation of rebel militias, largely out of fear that the assistance would make its way to Islamist extremist groups that have joined the battle to unseat Assad.
Romney said in his speech that he'd want (or someone else to do it) to arm the rebels which I hope doesn't EVER happen.
Also I agree with what some has said above about none of Romney's sons ever serving in the miltary fighting any of these major conflicts that Republicans seem to not mind sending our forces into. Heck even Prince Harry and William have had more military service and have seen more action in combat zones than most Republicans have.
I really wonder if Romney and the GOP would be so gun happy and willing to start another conflict if their sons were on the frontlines preparing to fight the battles their GOP fathers would be sending them into?
We have fought a war in Libya, are financing rebels in Syria, still paying and losing lives in Afganistan....nothing and no one in the ME is worth the life of another American service member...or taxpayer dollar. I had hoped that Romney would be different than Obama...and Bush...and Clinton...and Bush I. No such luck.
