"Regulations" is a sensationalist term for something else all together: LAWS THAT APPLY TO CORPORATIONS. When you hear somebody preaching "deregulation" understand that they're talking about removing laws.
Funny, they wont deregulate the people's lives...yep, weed is still illegal. Yep, abortion has to go. But Glass-Steagall? Adios!
They want anarchy for the corporations and authoritarian for the rest of us, as well as socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor.
Would'nt all deregulation destroy the air that we breathe and the water that we drink (EPA), how about the food that we eat and how it is processed (FDA) not to mention the medications that we take (FDA), the way that monitors the way the corporations handles our money through the stock market (SEC)? Some of these areas need to be enforced with stronger regulations and others need to be loosen (I don't know which ones though). I do know that it benefits many in the republican party for some of them to simply go away and is support by greedy people such as the koch (head) brothers in order for them to increase profits and pollute at the same time.
