Clearly its both.

This guy went beyond keeping a picture for his own perverted pleasure (possession of child pornography), he used the threat of exposure to strongarm more pictures from her (extortion), and when she refused to give him more, he created a fake Facebook page for the sole purpose of getting kids at her school to "friend" him, so he could share the pictures with them as well as a made up salacious story to go with them (distribution of child pornography, possibly slander). Then he continued to taunt her online (bullying) and every time she changed schools, he'd track her down and repeat the process (stalking and distribution). He pulled this off in three different schools and each time the girl would end up losing any friends she'd made because she'd now have a reputation as a "porn star skank" and was a social pariah... at 13, 14, 15 years old.

He was a pedophile determined to publicly humiliate and punish his victim, and he gave no indication that he was ever going to stop. No one was able to track him to stop him. There's nothing to say this wouldn't have continued through college and beyond, even to her workplace.

It goes beyond "just" a pedophile.

You would think it is against the law to publish pictures of someone naked without consent, but apparently it is OK. Or maybe it is not OK, considering she was under age. She should have called the cops. Too bad internet opened the door this kind of behaviour.

Exactly.

He's apparently been tracked down now and exposed by Anonymous, a 32 year old male.
Hope they got the right person. His name, age etc has been released.

Where were the parents during the 3 school changes?

Why did she change schools? Was it because they moved to different school districts?

Schools don't just allow kids to change schools three years in a row normally without a change of residence....

I kinda doubt she changed schools because of "mommy, I don't like this school anymore"

WHERE WERE THE PARENTS?

Ineptitude, ignorance and gross negligence on the parents part.....

Now, could the parents timidity on being involved with their daughters life have been caused by our governments rules and regulations on parents rights be the bottom line cause of this tragedy?

Would have to be discussed in another thread....

WB, I agree with you 1,000%

I am in no way condoning bullies and I, like you feel it is a parents duty and obligation to raise children that interact in a positive way with society.

Parents are not that stupid, they know when their child/children act acting in a violent/nasty way with other children and they should be held responsible for their actions...

But look around, parents have abrogated their responsibilities to the government and the police.....

Get a backbone, stand up to people that make other people's lives miserable, they'll keep on doing it as long as you keep on showing fear of them and whining that we need more laws to protect you from them...
Lemme guess, you didn't watch the video or read her story?? Well let me fill you in on a few details... she was physically assaulted while other kids filmed it, AND there was a scumbag who circulated a topless picture of her on Facebook. This isn't just a kid who was called names, she was both physically and sexually victimized over & over & over - despite moving to a new town, and enrolling in a new school. This is not acceptable, and it's sick that you would try to shift the blame here.

P.S. Were you also unaware that some sicko created a FB page after her death, called something like "Do you bleach??" and calling her nasty names posthumously? What kind of person does that?! I actually reported the page, and Facebook replied that "no obvious violations were being committed." How would you feel if she were your deceased daughter/niece/etc?

Ummm, yes, I've been reading every post in this thread.....

WHERE WERE THE PARENTS?

Ineptitude, ignorance and gross negligence on the parents part.....

As I've said numerous times in this thread, I have raised 4 children and every one grew up with a backbone, self confidence and have no problem talking to me about any issues in their lives...

One of the things they were taught, take no sh*t from anyone, if you have to fight, you fight to win...

Yup. I would rather be hit in the face than emotionally & verbally tormented... I've experienced both in my life (not to an extreme degree), and only the WORDS left scars that will never heal. Anyone who repeats that mantra is either a liar, a bully, or somebody who's never experienced both to compare.

Well I haven't, and in that early post I quoted you obviously didn't know the story yet. Why else would you talk about "words" and so forth, when she was physically assaulted?

They were moving the entire family to escape (not necessarily the best action), and I'm sure they were trying to deal with the situation... they were aware of what happened, so what more could they have done? I don't know them personally, so I cannot judge beyond that.

They moved three times (or however many) after their daughter was repeatedly physically assaulted, used in child pornography and stalked by a pedofile...

AND NOT ONCE DID THE PARENTS GET EITHER SCHOOL OFFICIALS, LAW ENFORCEMENT OR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INVOLVED...

Get real........
