Nah. I don't talk politics with people much, especially not casual friends and acquantences. My close freinds and family have enough to talk about other than politics too. I can't be close to people who think completely different from me though, we'd have nothing in common.

I have several friends that are staunch liberals. I can still be friends with people even if I think they're complete morons.

I wouldn't end a friendship just over a difference in political beliefs; but people who talk about nothing but politics and about who they hate get to be a drag, no matter where they may fall on the political spectrum. I suppose it would be impossible for me to maintain a serious friendship with a Nazi or Communist though, for example. Most other shades of opinion I could tolerate as long as we had enough else in common to relate.

I'll introduce you. You can go to Klan rallies together.

I suppose a moderate would not be hard to get along with.
My mom, whom I had lived with after my dad died, was what I thought of as a radical conservative. She would get so upset if I said anything that deviated from the party line that I just shut up or agreed with her. Years later, she died and I met my now husband, who is liberal. It is so liberating to live with an open minded person. I think most thinking people are flexible in some of their beliefs and can get along together. It is the close minded bigots who break friendships.

I think a lot of Fox listeners find a sense of community there, like kids in gangs. It fills a need that runs deeper than the politics. That's why they appear to be irrational and unbudging.

Kinda the way I see it. Would rather talk politics with strangers.

A sharp 17 year old could prep for 3 days and easily win this next debate. Obama has no case to argue and will be pointing the finger at anything and everything under the sun in order to fix a common ground villain plus this investigation baloney.......he'll prob start with a great big speech at getting the ones responsible for the last attack. ...which says what exactly..?
Ah yes, we democrats are just oh so immoral, we feel like old whores, everything we do is either illegal, immoral or fattening!

Nope. I have numerous conservative friends, and I have numerous liberal friends. Sure, when us liberals get together, we sometimes whine and moan about conservatives, but when we have a good mix, we never talk politics.
