What are your thoughts on the NDAA?

Obama unsuccessfully tried to close GITMO because it is UN American in my eyes and doesn't follow what we as Americans believe in.

Knowing that he wouldn't be able to close it down he staged a a whole ordeal making it look like that's what was happening. Close Guantanamo Bay right.

Then just a little while ago he takes Bush's unpatriotic Patriot Act even further and signs into law the National Defense Authorization Act giving the government the right to Indefinitely Detain ANYONE suspected of supporting Terrorism.

Never mind that Terrorism is a tactic and that there is NO clear definition of what Terrorism means.

What are your thoughts?

How long do you think NDAA has been around?

You don't know the definition of terrorism???

Here it is:

terrorism

noun (Concise Encyclopedia)
Systematic use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a population and thereby to bring about a particular political objective. It has been used throughout history by political organizations of both the left and the right, by nationalist and ethnic groups, and by revolutionaries. Although usually thought of as a means of destabilizing or overthrowing existing political institutions, terror also has been employed by governments against their own people to suppress dissent; examples include the reigns of certain Roman emperors, the French Revolution (see Reign of Terror), Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union under Stalin, and Argentina during the “dirty war” of the 1970s. Terrorism's impact has been magnified by the deadliness and technological sophistication of modern-day weapons and the capability of the media to disseminate news of such attacks instantaneously throughout the world. The deadliest terrorist attack ever occurred in the United States on Sept. 11, 2001 (see September 11 attacks), when members of al-Qaeda terrorist network hijacked four commercial airplanes and crashed two of them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center complex in New York City and one into the Pentagon building near Washington, D.C.; the fourth plane crashed near Pittsburgh, Pa. The crashes resulted in the collapse of much of the World Trade Center complex, the destruction of part of the southwest side of the Pentagon, and the deaths of some 3,000 people.

You know very well what he is talking about. He is referring to Section 1021‎ of the NDAA which authorizes indefinite detention of the Americans, which is a brand new usurpation of power.

To the OP, notice how people are willfully trying to be ignorant and beating around the bush instead of answering the question? That's incredibly stupid Obamabots for you. Progressives, my ass. No true Progressive would support this act.

Why would we want to close the Navy base at GTMO? It has been a permanent Caribbean Cruise for much of the East coast Navy for nearly a century.

If you are talking about our own little torture center and prison I would agree. If someone has not committed a chargeable crime let him go. If he has actually killed people, not just Americans, by planning or committing terrorism he should be executed, defiled and left to rot.

I'm totally against NDAA. Glad part of it got struck down by the courts.

There were some very shady practices going on during the protest this time last year. The government was doing everything it could to destroy the credibility of those speaking out against it.
