The AGW alarmists love to criticize the source of any information that does not agree with their alarmist position. So let's see what they say about National Geographic.

"Despite frequent headlines about a warming planet, melting sea ice, and rising oceans, climate analysts pointed to a seeming bright spot this week: During Southern Hemisphere winters, sea ice in the Antarctic, the floating chunks of frozen ocean water, is actually increasing.
In fact, in late September, satellite data indicated that Antarctica was surrounded by the greatest area of sea ice ever recorded in the region: 7.51 million square miles (19.44 million square kilometers), the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center announced Thursday."

Of course when National Geographic asked Eric Rignot, a NASA researcher and earth systems professor at UC Irvine, whether the data is good news, he deflects and retreats to his "everything means AGW is real" bunker. Here are some of his "defense of AGW" comments;

1. The antarctic has it's own climate and is isolated from the rest of the world. How convenient is that? Just dismiss the growing ice because it's not a part of the world's climate.

2. It's consistent with a warming world. What the F? Growing ice is consistent with a warming world?????? That's creative.

3. But let's not talk about growing antarctic sea ice. Let's deflect and talk about shrinking Greenland ice. Wow! This guy is a good politician. If you get cornered, just change the topic.

4. The Antarctic has not been warming up as fast as the models thought. It's warming up, but slower. So it's all consistent with a warming planet. Oh that's a good one. It's warming up and creating more ice????? He's quite creative.

One thing that's certain about the AGW alarmists; they are much better at politicizing their bias than their opposition.

First of all the Antarctic is just one small part of the globe, and climate change does not effect all areas equally, but as a whole your world is warming up.

Climate change skeptics have seized on the Antarctic ice to argue that the globe isn't warming and that scientists are ignoring the southern continent because it's not convenient. But scientists say the skeptics are misinterpreting what's happening and why. Shifts in wind patterns and the giant ozone hole over the Antarctic this time of year—both related to human activity—are probably behind the increase in ice, experts say. This subtle growth in winter sea ice since scientists began measuring it in 1979 was initially surprising, they say, but makes sense the more it is studied.

Many experts agree. Ted Scambos of the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Colorado adds: "It sounds counterintuitive, but the Antarctic is part of the warming as well."

Well the environmentalists celebrate if we enter an ice age?

Is it?

Global warming stopped 16 years ago, reveals Met Office report quietly released... and here is the chart to prove it | Mail Online

The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.
The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.
This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.

I'm sorry, I must have missed your published article. Pray tell, can you post a link to this article that you have gotten published that debunks the previously mentioned article?

We have been in an ice-age for the last 2.58 million years. This is just one of many interglacial periods. In about another 4,000 to 5,000 years summers and winters will get much colder. This is caused by orbital procession, due to the eccentricity of Earth's orbit.

I think I am more concerned with an overheated earth in the near future than I am about an ice age 10,000 years or more from now...I don't think you know what orbital precession is, otherwise you wouldn't be citing is as a cause of climate changes... Astronomy: precession of earth

By the way the last ice age ended between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago.... Last ice age ended by carbon dioxide increase - Technology & Science - CBC News
