Thanks!
Hot air is an IND. He may lean left but he hits the dems pretty hard on occasion.

I have not seen where Romney stated he will fix social security on the backs of the 50 and under crowd. Do you have a link? I ask because to date he hasnt released details of his golden path to salvation. That is a page he took from Obama's playbook.

Your saying that those left of center are a benevolent team of do gooders who are all about the common good. A type of communal sophisticates who are a collective bunch of idealists and dreamers who hope some day "the world will be one".

Where as the right of center are a bunch of individuals from the higher tier who's families for the most part are born into wealth and privilege...this elite are surrounded by other individuals who hope by supporting the rich that a they can share in the bounty also....So between the left and the right which group has the most powerful and influential individuals?

If money rules the nation and the world...it would appear that a few who belong to the so-called right have control over it....That would be the Republicans....and the job of the Democrats is to find ways of getting some of that right handed money into their left hand. Now if the Democrats were totally successful in shifting the cash over to their side- then they would suddenly become Republicans. Those who chant the "We" mantra only chant until material success comes to them...Once that is done- human nature takes over...and power corrupts till the WE become the ME.....

It's like the unionized postal worker delivering mail in a very upscale neighborhood..He thinks of social justice...of the distribution of wealth..but in his heart he just wants to live in the big house with the pool....and if given that house- he quickly abandons his union "brothers"....as quickly as a fat old feminist judge abandons her "sisters" once she has all that the men she hated have. Socialism is not some kind spiritual movement- It is material...It is about money...and the Republicans know that. They also know that it is the great weakness of the Democrats who will dance like jesters for a gold coin tossed to them at the banquet.

Thats exactly it. Folks who make decent money want to keep most of it. People who dont make all that much want the gvmt to take from those that do and use it to pay their bills.
The reason dems love safty nets is the thought of them having to care for their family and friends who are not making it scares the crap out of them.

I never have been sufficiently intimate with corruption to draw distinctions between different types of immorality. But if the Republican's chief justice feels comfortable calling a penalty a tax in order to christen Obamacare, then I don't think there's a reason that I shouldn't call fraud theft.

It's also strange to me that they claim to believe in personal responsibility, but this Social Security "fix" is making the <50 demographic pay for what is the >50 demographic's proper share of the system's change. But what's a few lies between real fascists?
OK. I have to agree with you here.

Wrong: If a Republican doesn't know what he's talking about he becomes a democrat.

You may be thinking of Libertarians who are a little fiscally conservative, then go off all anarchist like with no government with a lust for legal porn and drugs. Nobody by Libertarians get along with Libertarians of that nature. Thank god they are maybe .05% of the population.

Oh for cryin' out loud! This again! Libertarians are anarchists, blah blah blah! Libertarians are the TRUE conservatives, and realize that morality CANNOT be legislated, or forced on others! But I digress. This thread is about the differences between Democrats and Republicans. Well, I see no differences. Both parties have authoritarian factions in them, want bigger government, and want to control other peoples lives. Two different sides of the same coin!

The Difference Between Republicans & Democrats
A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street one day when they happened upon a homeless beggar. The Republican stops, gives the beggar $20 and his business card with the opportunity of employment. The Democrat, not wanting to be left out, reaches into the Republican’s pocket and takes $50, gives the beggar $30, and directions to the nearest welfare office.
