Nope she didn't give a anti Homo speech she signed a petition. Simple really.

Yeah - simple really. She made her anti-gay sentiments know to her private employer (ya know, speech), and they considered punishing her for it. Doesn't seem much different than the countless times people have made their pro-gay sentiments known to their private employers (very often Christian Universities or schools), and those employers actually punished (fire) that employee for not having values consistent with the institution.

I find it funny that conservatives condemn the former yet laud the latter.

She didn't sign a petition against same-sex marriage. She signed a petition getting the issue of same-sex marriage on the ballot in November. It was not pro- or against same-sex marriage.

Skip to about 10 minutes into the video to hear from her directly.

Diversity.....hmm, I wonder what her job responsibilities could have entailed? Promoting tolerance of people that are gay, maybe? And if that person's employer determined that the answer was no, where would the injustice be in this case?
No.

But she has worked closely with the LGBTQ community on campus as an ally.

She is either an amazing actor or she's not anti-gay. Most likely the latter.
