He's got to go.

Just for the fun of it, another interesting way to look at it is from the standpoint of 1919
U.S. Dollars. For this I calculated the value of 1919 dollars versus subsequent years and
then plotted the price of gas accordingly, as if the CPI never changed. The chart below
shows how much Americans were paying for gas if there was no inflation since 1919. Source

Default Obama and gas prices????

Well, it looks like the usual collection of Obama-haters is on a run here again.

Whattsamatter, boys? The free market price of gas got you crying for government controls these days?

They were for the free market before they were against it.

Neither.
He is correct.

Consumption has gone down.

For those who don't understand basic economics...e.g. the OP and most conservatives. Gas prices are governed by the law of supply and demand. In mid 2008 the economy was still in ok shape and gas prices were about $4.00+ a gallon. Was that due to Bush's policies? No, it was due to emerging markets like India, China, and Indonesia becoming larger fuel consumers. Then in late 2008-2009 there was a global recession, and like any recession people cut back on purchases including fuel purchases because they were in crisis mode. Some of the biggest cut backs were in Asia where countries abandoned fuel price supports which caused a drop in demand for gasoline. Now the economy is improving, particularly in Asia and as such gas prices are going back up.

It baffles me that Cons seem to think if you give more to the rich it will somehow benefits the middle class when that has been proven to never work. The Cons should ask Nixon about trickle down politics and see how well it worked for the American people then. But I guess we will always have people that ignore facts and think that the rich will someday provide for them and in turn make them rich too.

I think they're all upset because President Obama hasn't nationalized the oil companies like Venezuela did.
