If the president has any control over prices in the free market system ,gas is the last thing I would want him to exercise his control over to lower its price.

Gas is valued in dollars. Dollars decline in value each year because of the Fed. Therefore, it takes more dollars to buy gas. Pretty simple answer: yes, $4.00 is the standard until GLOBAL demand falls.

Exactly.......... gas is worth 25 cents in silver like always. Anyone got any silver?

The dollar is subsidized........ Worthless but subsidized.

I am surprised gas isn't $7.00 a gallon yet.....

Ask the oil speculators. Do you think President Obama should restrict free market trade to drop the price of gasoline in your car?

I work in a office full of right winged morons. They are all ranting and raving about how "dat dare obama has dem dare gas prices so high, and how it was 1.85 when Bush left office" Many of these morons are incapable of using their 70 IQ points and google to find out that gas was as high as well during the Bush years. It was even well over 4 a gallon for the summer before Bush left office. They can't use logic and reason to figure out gas prices are due to world supply and demand, and increasing demand in China and India. They can't come to terms that gas will always be expensive and it is a commodity of transportation you have to pay. The days of the USA being one of the only large user of gas is gone. Only a complete imbecile rants and raves about gas prices and blames the high prices on the president.

gas is a natural resource. supply and demand is what they teach you in college to believe the lie that the price actually changes. i wonder what those morons in the office think about you?
