Have to agree with you! Let it blow up...we have to hit rock bottom before we can climb back up to he top....It will be very interesting to see what type of people will be making that climb

Eventually, it'll just be the Fed buying them which is a total ponzi scheme.

We'll come out of this stronger than ever, but basically 2011-2020 is a lost decade, but I think we all knew that regardless of fiscal cliff.
No No lets do what FDR did and extend it out for a decade plus some. That worked swell didn't it?

It'll be easy to recover. We're a young population, abundant agricultural capacity, natural resources some of which we're barely harnessing (we are the Saudi Arabia of natural gas and this, IMO, will propel America forward in the 2020 decade), technology and innovative ability and everyone still wants to come here regardless of our dumb government: we are not Greece. Long-term I am optimistic about America, but short-term we have not seen the worst of it.

Better to take a 1-2% economic contraction next year than to keep kicking this can down the road.

I would like to see what happens. I don't trust anything the press reports on this issue.

Our ambassador doesn't have a god damned thing to do with bases in Japan, Germany, or Korea.

Embassy security is provided by the local law enforcement, which is why we should have never had an Embassy in a country that was just revolted and hadn't stabilized yet.

We account for nearly 60 cents of every military dollar spent in the world, with our allies, we account for nearly 75% of all world wide military spending.

China, accounts for 7%.
