You don't enjoy decimalized currency? I hope you can balance your chequebook using pounds, shillings, and pence. Good thing the Founders introduced that "globalist" cultural infringement on U.S. sovereignty!
It would cost more money teach 97% of humankind the Colonial system. Might as well join them. Most people would think that America is still ruled by the British Queen and promoting British colonialism. Wanna get rid of our papist calendar too?

I have no strong feelings one way or t'other. Coins do last longer, and would be more cost-effective in the long run...but I wish they'd figure out a way to make them clearly larger than a freakin' quarter! Your idea for a new $2.50 quarter-eagle is very intriguing!

The Federal Reserve has a stupid rule about those straps of bills. They all have to be on the same side facing the same direction. That's a laborious chore. With coins, just dump them in the funnel and sort them mechanically by size. At least there is no stupid rule requiring that the coins in the roll must be stacked on the same side.

Amen! DST sucks and serves no apparent purpose.

Time to use UTC so West Coast legislators don't get disoriented when they have to come back to Washington after vacation.

Did you know that your analog TV will be useless on February 17, 2009 (N.S.) to satisfy technology geeks and their powerhog widescreen plasma TVs?

American citizenship is a sacred privilege. I do not want to see it watered down or compromised in any way. As for illegal aliens, doesn't the Constitution require the FedGov to defend us from foreign invasion?

Being a Texan is a sacred privilege. I don't want to see it watered down or compromised in any way. I want those Californians to stay and fix their real estate problems instead of running here and ruining our way of life. The same goes for the Katrina invasion!

You don't want 16 & 17 year olds to vote? They are a good target for monarchism and authoritarianism because of their disenfranchisement. No wonder people my age distrust democracy.

Does this mean replacing taxpayer-subsidized gov't programs with gov't services supported by user fees? If so, I agree this idea has merit and should be explored further

It means no more borrowing.
