All the other countries shut down their embassies there and brought their people home. There had been attacks and it was getting more dangerous by the day but this administration didn't get a clue. Disgusting.

It's obvious that someone high up wanted to play politics, by playing down the danger in Libya, so it would not look like 0bama's invasion of that country ended in failure.

What invasion?there were never any American boots on the ground and the air attacks were carried out by a European consortium led by the French.Maybe a clarification of what America actually did would be useful as when it was happening i got the impression Americas role was just supplying intel and even that is an assumption on my part..

I thought Obama was supposed to be so brilliant? Stewart used the phrase "not optimal" referencing the WH's handling of the events AFTER the Benghazi attack. Yet Obama for some reason, felt the need to parrot the words "not optimal" as a direct modifier to the deaths of 4 Americans. Not only was Obama an insensitive clod, he DIDN'T RESPOND TO THE PREMISE posed by Stewart.

I don't think anything Obama can do, any gimmick he tries, will save him in this election. He has proven to the American public that he is a liar and more concerned with winning re-election than our national security.

Did your Obotomy cause you to forget about the UN's role in the Libya bombings?

U.N. okays military action on Libya | Reuters

Our U.S. Congress was never even allowed discussion of the matter.

The link doesnt clarify Americas involvement in the ousting of Ghadaffi and definitely doesnt indicate any American invasion.

Ten of the Council's 15 member states voted in favour of the resolution, with Russia, China and Germany among the five that abstained. There were no votes against the resolution, which was co-sponsored by France, Britain, Lebanon and the United States.
Clear enough?

Where does the American invasion fit in?Looks to me like America co-sponsored a UN resolution...
Most of the actual combat was done by other than American forces, Americas role seemed to be responsible for Aerial surveillance with AWACS and some navy ships firing some well placed cruise missiles, the main combatants were the Libyan freedom fighters...Kind of a stretch to call this an invasion by American forces when Americas actual role was marginal at best .

It certainly isn't the truth that it WAS optimal. Therefore it IS the truth that it WASN'T optimal. It was other things as well like horrible and brutal, and Obama has said as much. But he told the truth when he said it wasn't optimal. Let's not act as if Obama NEVER expressed any outrage over the deaths. He has. Immediately after it happened, even. And he simply told the truth here.
