Conservatives share many tenants with extremist philosophies like radical Islam from the point of view that they are adamant on imposing their values on everyone.
From education, to health care, to entitlements conservatives wish to force their idealism on people who do not share their beliefs.
Conservatives opposed Obamacare despite the majority of Americans supporting it. The public school system forces all (except the wealthy who can afford private schools) to both pay for and use conservative-biased education (such as here in Texas) where curriculum is decided by textbooks committees ignoring both the wishes of parents and local communities.
Conservatives believe that no one should be forced to pay for national programs such as Welfare and Social Security, claiming that such programs completely disregard an individual’s ideal about such programs. Indeed, conservatives believe that they should not have to participate in any aspect of society that they disagree with, based on their "It's All About Me" philosophy.
Thomas Jefferson said “To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves is sinful and tyrannical.” Of course, Mr. Jefferson also said "Where the press is free and every man able to read, all is safe", which indicated his support for public schooling, at least among white men.
This is exactly what ignorance does.
America was founded as a Republic, and as such recognizes the rights of the individual. Of course, the Founders also recognized that We the People must also build a Society, for the furtherance of All. When the Articles of Confederation were found to give too much power to the several States, the Founders then wrote and the States adopted the Constitution of the United States, which greatly empowered the Federal government.
Conservatives seek to rob the rights of the individual in order to establish a forced social order to reflect their idea of Christianity and conservatism. To a conservative, 'individual rights' means the right for some to starve to death, the right to worship as the majority in power do, and to shout down opposing opinions. Concepts of individual liberty, like a Woman's Right to Choose, is foreign to conservatives, for conservatives believe that the individual belongs to the State.
This kind of conservative social engineering causes economic and educational regression as can be seen in places like the former Soviet Union and the Middle East, where right-wing dictatorships are arising again, 'true' religions are the order of the day, and all dissent, including the Press, is put down by the State.
In this way the Conservatives in America and the Taliban have something in common, they both think the rest of the world should live under their beliefs.
Fact is if Obamacare stays, many doctors will retire. Bringing in millions more into free health care with lower payments to doctors through government regulation will make it impossible to stay. Get in line as government legislation health care fully goes into effect in 2014.
Here in NJ many doctors are not receiving new patients because they are overloaded with too many patients already .
If anyone is pushing values , it is the liberals on the masses.. Pushing homosexuality as normal. Teaching homosexuality to our kids as an alternative lifestyle. Corrupting and brainwashing our children is a liberal public school system . This is a planned event . To brainwash the upcoming generations to accept socialism. Problem with that is socialism has a ruling class and the poor become poorer.
Socialism is a godless , faithless entity that erodes peoples lives and also takes all incentive, creativity away and stagnates the populace into a dependent leach like society attached to the government for existence. It does not work and masses of the people will have a miserable life as government dictates.
Conservatism is an extreme ideology which has only become more extreme over the years. As Eisenhower wrote once (who would be a commie in the modern GOP).
Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas.Their number is negligible and they are stupid.
What has happened over the years? That negligible and stupid group has come to dominant Republican party - a once moderate party has turned to extremism and radicalism.
Liberals seek to preserve and strengthen our institutions - SS, medicare, clean air and water, education, and communities. While we don't believe that everyone is equal, we believe in normalizing opportunities since we realize that if someone was born on third, they didn't hit a triple.
What do conservatives seek? They seek to abolish and destroy our institution. They want to dismantle SS and medicare - which provide invaluable resources to the elderly. In fact, SS reduces poverty among the elderly by 50%. Liberals believe that if you worked hard for your life, you should have a bare minimum of comfort in your golden years. Conservatives would rather have old people eat cat food. They seek to dismantle the EPA and overturn the clean air and water acts so businesses have the freedom to pollute when ever they want. They want to abolish our educational system which is responsible for training some of the best minds in the world and giving millions of opportunities they would never have had.
Nonetheless, as a liberal I do share some Conservatives ideals. If you want to secede since you no longer want to be apart of the US, then I support your right. In fact, I would support subsidizing the secession of several states from the Union. You can be free from liberalism and live in your own little self-created hell.
Conservatives align perfectly with totalitarian regimes, the most extreme example being the Nazi Party, where slavish devotion to state, extreme nationalism, a militarized aggressiveness endowed in all citizenry, along with the suppression of individual right of expression and civil liberties pretty much summarize the extremist elements of the Republican Party (which actually control the party) and through their corruption and incompetence (Bush/Cheney) and their obstruction of government since 2009 seek to actually foment chaos while checking any progress made by government under democratic leadership.
Their supporters are staunchly nationalistic, ignorant, insular, uninformed and often bigoted as well, and truly represent the most backwards and regressive type of anti intellectualism in America today.

I can't wait until these bats--t crazy extremists blurt out that "America's moral decline is caused by Freedom of Religion/Separation of Church and State." Apparently they think we need a State Church to keep us straight. The sooner the Evangelicals/Fundamentalists blurt out their true feelings, we can finally have an honest discussion about it.
Hopefully the State Church turns out to be Catholicism (and scares the hell out of them). America will finally be part of the larger idea of Christendom and there will be a fourth level of government that the Federal Government is subservient to; The Pope, as the Vicar of Christ--until HE comes again.
The church is the natural check on the excesses of the state!

I admired Barry Goldwater, a 'true' conservative. Indeed, he was all for 'conserving' the environment, and I have no doubt he would be in the van of the global warming alarmist.
William Buckley was a founding modern conservative, yet even he would be found wanting by the nuts of today.
I also feel that both men would have been for much of Obamacare, especially the individual mandate. They would have found repungnant the thought that there are individuals who can afford to purchase health insurance but choose not to, opting instead to make use of 'free' emergency rooms, and so pass the cost of their healthcare to real property holders (as here in Tarrant County; we have long had a special assessment to pay for the county hospital system).
So you actually believe that Barry Goldwater, who voted against the CRA of 1964 on constitutional grounds would have approved of Obamacare? Please send me some of whatever you have been smoking.

The idiocy of the very essence of this post is beyond human comprehension. Every word and description perfectly defines leftist totalitarianism. That you have it completely backwards is simply consistent with your every other thought.
