Wow, they were members of the conservative opposition party (just like Republicans in congress now).

This kinda reminds me of the "angry mob" of conservatives in Florida that were ticked the vote count wasn't going their way and Bush was losing votes (if they counted ALL the votes, Bush would have lost Not That It Was Reported, but Gore Won )

Maybe they were just mad that Vicente Fox told the world that despite Bush's "tough ranch-guy" image, he is a wimp and and is a "Windshield Cowboy" (rides a pickup on the ranch instead of a horse). According to Fox Bush was afraid of horses... some tough guy.

Post News, Ex-Mexican leader's statue felled.

Opposition protesters in Mexico have torn down a bronze statue of the former president, Vicente Fox, just hours after it was erected.
They threw eggs at the monument in Boca del Rio in the state of Veracruz, before putting a rope around its neck and pulling it to the ground.

I have a bad feeling about what just happened to Fox's statue......

I hope that act of vandalism is not the first shot fired in an possible civil war in Mexico.

They were conservative? ARticle said Fox is from their so called conservative party since 2000.
Calderon is also conservative....and liberal party protesters have been protesting since Calderon won.
