Or maybe a lot of women just don't like Republicans, ever think of that?! God knows the GOP gives 'em enough reasons (which are also kinda the same reasons for gays, and hispanics, and african-americans, and jews, and muslims, and atheists, and...)!!
there have been only a few Republicans that I've respected. The rest of them want to:
Tell me what is and what is not rape.
Tell me what I can be covered under my insurance plan.
Tell me that a 3 day old zygote has more rights than I do.
If I found out I was pregnant today, and my boyfriend wanted nothing to do with it, he could simply flee...
Not legally he can't, unless you let him. If you want child support then theres not much he can do about it, he'll have to pay up or have the law after him. So its not JUST a woman's issue, it takes two to make a kid, and unless you allow the guy to sever all responsibility the child involves two even though its not growing inside of him.
You're trying to use reading material preferences to make your arguement?
Really?
Laughable, and the link is questionable.
BTW, the whole women discussing politics at work thing?
We have better manners and know that some things are better off not discussed in the workplace.
Why do you believe women have better manners then men? Seems a bit sexist, doesn't it?
Yes, he can flee. He can flee legally. If he decides to move to another country, where our civil LAWS have no effect. Even our next door neighbors in Canada will not extradite a man simply because of a paternity suit or not showing up to a child support hearing.
And do you know how much it can cost a woman, to file for a paternity suit and then file for child support? THOUSANDS of dollars. Money that the woman may not have.

Again, if he decides to flee to another state , or country the woman is SOL.

but the man still has the opportunity to freaking hide and not provide support whatsoever.
Do you think that Rush Limbaugh, leading conservative spokesperson calling a woman "A ****" for advocatiing that women have access to birth control as part of there health insurance is sexist? While at the time saying nothing about Viagra being covered by health insurance plans.
Do you think that Todd Akin's views on "Legitimate Rape" have merit.
What planet do you live on anyway?
Of course this is a misrepresentation of both Limbaugh and Akin, as I'm sure you know. What Sandra Fluke wanted was legislation forcing her school to provide birth control. Whether she or any woman would have "access to birth control" was never at issue. They could go to 7-11 and buy a pack of condoms, or to Walgreens and get the pill on their own. Neither Limbaugh nor Georgetown U suggested restricting that access.
It's as if I demanded that my employer buy me a rifle, and if if they said 'buy your own rifle,' I whined that my 'access to self-defense' was restricted and 2nd Amendment rights have been violated.
Damn. Are libs really that dumb?
Same thing with the Akin comment. Now I'm the first to say that what he said was stupid, and stupidly expressed, and he should have dropped out of the Senate as many R's urged him to do. But we all know what he meant by 'legitimate rape.' He just meant 'actual rape.' Again, are libs really too stupid to have figured that out?

Sooooooo.........you agree with Akins comments re legitimate rape?
You know, that a womans body "will just shut that whole thing down"?
I heard a brilliant caller express this thought on the Todd Schnitt talk show today. Implicit in the whole 'war on women' dustup is that all women are concerned about is abortion and contraception.
As if to say 'you women get back to your clinic (kitchen). You worry about abortion (cooking). Don't you worry your pretty head bout no economics or foreign policy. You leave that to us menfolk.'
Republicans by contrast don't regard abortion as a "women's issue." Nor do we obversely regard economics and foreign policy as a men's issue. We don't slice & dice people into identity groups like that.
Looks like that caller wasn't so brilliant after all
Thank you, SF, for bumping this old thread. Did I strike a never with 'obnoxious left?' Is that why you're bumping these old threads?

Anyway, gives me a chance to respond to kshe95girl...
No. Go back and read the post, carefully this time. I said that Akin's comments were stupid and stupidly expressed. We all know that the "shut down" thing is hokum. Just as stupid were all the MSM & lefties who deliberately misinterpreted the "legitimate rape" language.
The caller I mentioned in the OP still made a good point. It was a good point before the election, and the election results do not change that. It's still a good point after the election. The 'war on women' meme was actually demeaning to female voters.
