Family Research Council shooting: Security guard shot in arm in Washington DC | abc7chicago.com

OK...when I first saw the headline (not the headline of the article I linked to, but a different one) I feared the worst - that this was another mass shooting. I guess I've become so used to hearing about these horrific tragedies that whenever I see "shooting" my first thought is that there are a large number of victims.

As it turns out, it looks like only one person - a security guard - was shot and it appears that he is alive.

This is still horrible and is very troubling given that there's a decent chance it could have been politically-motivated. Although I do not support this group's agenda (despite leaning to the right on most issues), any shooting that seems somewhat likely to have been politically-motivated is particularly alarming.

Default Shooting at Family Research Council

Apparently the story is still unfolding.

"The suspect 'made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard', a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported the suspect was also shot. Authorities were treating the attack as a case of domestic terrorism."

Let's see if this gets as much play as, say, an abortion clinic shooting.

Looks like the guard is ok for now.

I am absolutely shocked that there was a shooting in the Gun Control Capital of the US. Shocked I tell you.

OP is dying to make this a "Christian victimhood" event so he can score some political points.

Thinks abortion shootings get "play" in the media....LOL

"RIGHT WING NUTJOB AND THEIR GUNS!!". In before typical liberals.

Obviously this is a militant ultra-liberal. Though the press and liberals accuse Tea Party members of being violent criminals they didn't commit crimes. However, here's a liberal acting like what they accuse the Tea Party of being.

Seems our society has put us at such odds with each other that the extremists are cracking at both ends.
We are a very divided nation these days and have gone from dislike to outright hatred of the "other side".
Elected officials encouraging this divide over the MSM is only adding fuel to the fire.

I think it will only get worse.

Right wing/libertarian/Christian whites commit 95% of the politically motivated murders in the USA.

Then when some liberal burns some Hummers in the middle of the night on a car lot...you get all crazy scared with fear.....LOL

The Tiller shooting was front page news for days and the story lingered for weeks. The NY Times alone has 35 stories related to the Tiller shooting.

Well, see, that's because we don't ban ALL guns EVERYWHERE in the country.

There would be no shootings if we had an outright ban. We have to ban not only carrying guns in public, but also gun sales and having guns on private property. If we do that, there will be no guns in the country and no violence.

You people are more concerned about putting a political letter on the situation than the situation itself.
