It is hard to downsize the military industrial complex and it would take political courage to do it. We do not need to worry about cuts because our leaders would not recognize courage if it slapped them in the face. Ohio is a great example, we have a engine plant in Boners district and a AFB in Mansfield that the Pentagon does not want.

What is interesting is the {D} party and their leaders are all for military cuts until reality sets in that people will lose jobs. Here is Sherrod Brown showing his lack of courage when he said this:

Quote:
Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, meanwhile, said he hopes that Obama tomorrow “will get a better sense of just how vital the C-27J program is to the Air National Guard Base at Mansfield and the economy of north-central Ohio.
The cuts do not hurt our national security and here is the reason it should be cut :

Quote:
White House spokeswoman Joanna Rosholm said the White House made the tough decision to nix the C-27Js because they feel the larger C-130 aircraft can do the job just as effectively. The proposal came out of recommendations from Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

We have a bigger and better plane and we do not need a duplicate. The {R}s rail against duplicate programs and if they were not hypocrites they would be leading the charge to nix a engine and AFB that the military does not want.

It is easy to see what the out come will be, the cuts will never take place no matter if it is Obama/Romney. In the story the House has already passed a veto proof bill, don't you just love that bi partisanship? The {D}s are really not serious about cutting Military spending because they have a slew of gutless leaders.Think about it, the Pentagon put their head on a chopping block and our leaders did not want to swing the axe.

And that's the very path we've been on for the past 4 years.
Record number of people depending on the government so they can live a day to day existence.

I guess racking up huge deficits and massive spending are A-OK just as long as the GOP is doing it,..

Romney wants to increase defense spending by $2 trillion. But what will he use it for?
I assume you have reputable source laying out Romney's military plan and not just a biased article from the Wash. Post.

Just because Obama says it, doesn't make it true

They always **** and moan that the gop/teabaggers are about "less spending!" "balance the budget!" though Willard wants the exact opposite.

It makes you wonder why these right wing goons support this idiot in the first place
That $5 trillion income tax cut is a joke, considering the total income tax revenue in 2010 was $1.1 trillion. Even if Willard gave every American an income tax holiday his entire presidency, we would not hit $5 trillion. So whenever you libs spout your propaganda, I know you are lying and making **** up.

this.

The $5 trillion figure accounts for only half of Romney’s plan -- and it's cumulative over 10 years. The governor says he will offset those lost revenues by reducing tax deductions and eliminating loopholes. However, he has never said what those changes would be.

The president made a misleading statement about an incomplete plan, but he did describe what the plan was missing and Romney would not fill in the gaps.

Nothing could be worse then the last four years. As pessimistic as that sounds, we are sitting at historically bad economic times. Combined with 0bama's policies creating all these tax and regulatory bombs that are set to go off on Jan 1st 2013, yeah, things could not be any worse then if we picked someone randomly out of the phone book..

If you classify "the rich" as anyone making over $100,000 then a complete tax holiday for ten years would do it. but Romney is not talking about a 50% cut in taxes, much less a 100% tax holiday. go find better lies, and peddle then on the Democratic Underground, they might buy it.
