Back in early '11 there was a lot of talk about the US arming syrian rebels. Lot of news stories about it if I recall correctly which I always do. The swooners can pretend this is all "made up" but that is not reality. Now we know that some former Seals who were on site were told to stand down and actually disobeyed orders to go help during the embassy attack. A team of Marines was an hour away and never sent to help. A C130 gunship was in the air along with a drone and they weren't allowed to help. Basically they sat and watched our guys get killed and then lied about the entire thing. Sickening.
"Hillary Clinton has paved the way for the United States to arm the Libyan rebels by declaring that the recent UN security council resolution relaxed an arms embargo on the country.As Libya's opposition leaders called for the international community to arm them, the secretary of state indicated that the US was considering whether to meet their demands when she talked of a "work in progress".
The US indicated on Monday night that it had not ruled out arming the rebels, though it was assumed this would take some time because of a UN arms embargo which applies to all sides in Libya.
But Clinton made clear that UN security council resolution 1973, which allowed military strikes against Muammar Gaddafi's regime, relaxed the embargo. Speaking after the conference on Libya in London, Clinton said: "It is our interpretation that [resolution] 1973 amended or overrode the absolute prohibition of arms to anyone in Libya so that there could be legitimate transfer of arms if a country were to choose to do that. We have not made that decision at this time."
How do you ship arms without getting your hands dirty? Why of course you give a call to your good buddies in the muslim brudderhood to do the work for you........
"CAIRO—Egypt's military has begun shipping arms over the border to Libyan rebels with Washington's knowledge, U.S. and Libyan rebel officials said. The shipments—mostly small arms such as assault rifles and ammunition—appear to be the first confirmed case of an outside government arming the rebel fighters. Those fighters have been losing ground for days in the face of a steady westward advance by forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.
The Egyptian shipments are the strongest indication to date that some Arab countries are heeding Western calls to take a lead in efforts to intervene on behalf of pro-democracy rebels in their fight against Mr. Gadhafi in Libya. Washington and other Western countries have long voiced frustration with Arab states' unwillingness to help resolve crises in their own region, even as they criticized Western powers for attempting to do so."
Don't know what politicial show i had on, but talking about this right now, and pissed. Whoever the Col was, has a lot of questions for this administration.
Other breaking news, nite of attack, 3 pleads for help came in to the CIA, and those 3 request denied. We failed the lives of those 4 Americans.
And then when you have a SOB President and administration lie about those deaths, they also demean those deaths at the same damn time.
Don't give a crap what party you belong to, sometimes principles and decency do matter.
