It is good to know that there are people who were power in western democracies can be sent to jail.

He wont go to jail. In about 2 years his conviction will be overturned on appeal and never spend a second behind bars.

Obviously excluding the US. Otherwise Timothy "Tax Cheat" Geithner would have been in prison years ago. Instead of punishing tax cheats in the US, Democrats make them the Secretary of the Treasury.

He only got 4 years but they sentenced 6 scientists to 6 years in prison fo rnot correctly predicting the earthquake in 2009.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/23/world/...lty/index.html

(CNN) -- Earthquake experts worldwide expressed shock at the manslaughter convictions of six Italian scientists who failed to predict the deadly L'Aquila quake, warning that the decision could severely harm future research.
Two scientists resigned their posts with the government's disaster preparedness agency Tuesday after a court in L'Aquila sentenced six scientists and a government official to six years in prison. The court ruled Monday that the scientists failed to accurately communicate the risk of the 2009 quake, which killed more than 300 people.

It could be a possibility. Anything is possible in this day and age.

Yet even if he did go to prison his term would be reduced by a year due to a Pardon Law that was established in 2006. It was due to reduce the over crowded conditions of the prisons.
