It's common knowledge that the GOP's biggest owners are big oil, and now they have let everyone know.

Chevron, has recently donated 2.5 million to the GOP's superpac and is likely the biggest corporate donation in the history of politics, and we can see why. Willard's plan is to have a spending free-for-all on his big oil cronies if elected.
[MOD CUT/hotlinking]

"Though publicly traded corporations have mostly shied away from new super PACs, one California energy giant is bucking the tide with a $2.5 million donation to a Republican group, new records show."

"The amount dwarfs the $1.2 million that Chevron’s political-action committee and its employees have given to federal candidates, primarily to Republicans such as Boehner and presidential nominee Mitt Romney, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The firm has also spent nearly $15 million on Washington lobbying since the start of 2011."

So they make $80 billion and they're worried about $1.5 billion? Sure.

Great!

Maybe we will start drilling offshore, explore oil shale, and start using coal again with Romney. It will be nice to have people back to work again.

How many jobs did that blown $90 billion per year on "green energy" create?

You libs are priceless.

Why shouldn't they donate to Republicans? When the perceived goal of the Democratic Party is to wipe out or nationalize (government control) the American oil industry, you're going to go against them! I know some oilfield workers who were life long Democratic Party voters who've turned their back on the party that wants to put them out of work.

Big oil bankrolls the US government thru taxes.

No big oil, no federal government, no free handouts.

Guess big oil has a right to choose just like the dolts in another post who despised Obama's policies when they were told the policies were Romney's, yet they will vote for obama.

if you don't question the motivation of one group you can't question any other group.

Wall st bankrolled Obama in 2008.

Environmentalism is one of the most trampled upon topics by the GOP -___-. It won't hit the current generation too hard but it will hit the next and the one after. That's one thing I didn't like about Romney's platform: it's all about money and not necessarily about quality of living... Money can't stop flooding.
I understand what Obama's 90 billion tried to accomplish. It sets a necessary implication of the need of sustainable transportation. Eventually, oil's going to be MUCH more expensive because it's harder to extract the further oil wells go and the demand for oil worldwide is going to cause shortages galore. Especially with the rise of China and India in the near future.
The energy policies Romney has planned are quite finite. Yeah, jobs will be created but the cost on the environment and future populations being able to use it is probably too high.
And the political name calling (even by well defined political philosophies) is petty and tends to alienate discussion on these types of thing into babbling about opinion.
What it pretty much sounds like is racism... Silly stereotyping and racism. Speaking metaphorically.
