Smoking looks cool, but smells like stool.

Interesting development where I work.

Effective January 1 we will be no smoking and it isn't just no smoking on the job but no smoking anywhere, anytime.

If you don't like it it's a free country and the employee is free to quit to find employment elsewhere.

It issn't that the company is altruistic, they aren't, but the company pays a substantial portion of health insurance premiums and why should the company, or employees who do pay a portion of the premium, have to pay more because someone smokes?

Smoking is very uncool, filthy and it smells bad too.

Smoking is very cool. You haven't lived until you've seen severe COPD, labored breathing, cyanosis and continual sputum (phlegm) being spit up/suctioned from a lifetime smoker. Even cooler to see the severe restlessness of someone with lung cancer who is either breathing with one lung due to removal, or is waiting to die because the surgeon cannot operate due to the malignancy spreading to their lymph nodes.

OR.........You can be the "coolest" guy who ever lived with a smoke.

A car accident at 24 years old takes your life from you. No one lives forever.

If you only eat salads and drink bottled water....I wouldn't want to live anyway.

It's true that many things in life involve risks and that certain things which people may enjoy can cause harm and people make choices and tradeoffs in living their lives vs playing it safe on a lot of different issues.

However, few things have been so thoroughly proven to shorten your life as smoking.
