The main problem with this thread is that Yngwie is being called a legend.

Yngwie probably is a legitimate legend for a moderate sized group of guitar players into the style, but not to the average person. He certainly influenced a lot of "shredders". His music is definitely not for the masses, but he is highly proficient and well schooled in classical music. As a player, I enjoy him in occasional small doses. I see mention that he has no "feel", but imo he certainly does, just not in the prototypical manner.

You don't know the half...and his fans are just as arrogant. Don't ever attempt to have a music conversation with a Malmsteen fan. Go watch paint dry instead.

Prog rockers...ugggghhhh!

That's a fair assessment I guess.

I don't know man...if there ain't no gutbuckets on the floor, I don't wanna hear it. Hendrix does everything wrong, and yet I don't think I've ever heard another axeman that moves me like that. SRV or Clapton maybe...

That is correct.

We all know that one random opinion of one random dude in some random country in a world consisting of like tons of random countries and zillions of random dudes...MUST BE TRUE.

As long as it slams Obama, right?

Duane Allman?

Yngwie isn't prog rock either...he's just butt metal. Not a bad guitarist, just too technical. His music was very cliche for the era he was in. But to call him prog is an insult....there was a lotttt of good prog in the 60s and 70's, especially from South America and Western Europe.

Well, if he wasn't happy in one of the happiest places on earth, maybe he should live in Disneyland, with a fistful of antidepressants.

I guess the "opinion" of an obscure guitar player who obviously has an unrestrained taste for fast food would be of some value for a relevant synopsis.
It's the multiculturalism that makes us less happy, I absolutely suspect.

That said, the Scandy countries I understand are being currently overrun by foreigners, and I also have read that the foreigners are not at all happy in the Scandy countries by large. So there's that.

Just speaking for myself. I`m happy here but I`m not into the white supremacist stuff.
