At minimum.
They are reporting that pretty much all of Atlantic City is flooded.
O.C New Jersey is bad, Margate, NJ is really bad, Cape May, Wildwood. Lewes, DE Dewey Beach, DE, Rehoboth Bethany, DE. O.C Maryland is really bad full of water, I can't imagine New York City. Im right near the Delaware Bay but was fortunate not to lose power or have flood problems.
Everyone who owns homes on the beachfront aren't rich, esp if they live in Atlantic City.
There are some "poor" beach towns too, like Asbury Park.
I'm glad you said that, because the posters here seem to think this storm is only hitting wealthy vacation home-owners! I would guess they've never been to the NJ shore, because in reality a good number (the majority?) of people there are just like anyone else. My relatives are definitely not rich, and live there year-round in very modest homes... they're all teachers or retired teachers, and have worked very hard their whole lives. I'm particularly worried about that one cousin, since she has a little baby boy.
P.S. I've lived at the beach around here, and I'm not rich either! When you have as much oceanfront as we do, it's not all million-dollar homes... I was/am a renter, and could barely even swing my low rent payments at the time. Beach does NOT always equal fancy, ya know.

I heard a few minutes ago the National Guard is rescuing people near Atlantic City. They were sheltered in schools that filled up with water. It's far from over.

I heard earlier that Governor Christie ripped the mayor of Atlantic City for his role in that mess. I hope they get out ok.
