Those who's investments reside in industry - here and else where will deny that human activity has caused global warming. If they admit that their system of wealth is responsible- they would have to take cut in pay outs.
Of course billions of humans sending waste product or wasted energy into the atmosphere..that come from inefficient systems of production and function does have an effect- HOW COULD IT NOT?

How could it? That is more important and the answer to that question has failed to pass scientific process. Until that question is answered properly, all that exists is speculative gossip.
FACT: Total Hurricane activity has DECREASED since 1978. Even while our ability to TRACK and FIND storms have INCREASED.
There are some areas where there is actual debate on the subject of climate change. Hurricane activity is NOT one of those areas. There simply is NO correlation between Hurricane Activity and warming.
Oh and Jennifer Granholm is a moron. Attemting to make this linkage is just the act of an idiot.
This is a Cat1 Hurricane that happened DURING hurricane season, in a season with relativly low total ACE during a period of decreased global ACE even while the climate has warmed.
The reason for the increased floods has to do more with the other things happening at the same time. The storm surge itself was exacerbated by the MOON. unless tidal changes are now caused by climate change, Idiotgranholm proves to know nothing.
Like I've said, this isn't the first Hurricane to hit this region, it won't be the last, it was relatively weak, and most people have already gotten power back with no issues. Had 10,000 cell sites down this morning, already recovered over 80% by end of day.
Three days, all will be back to normal, except for those who life directly on the coast and on barrier Islands. They should be preparred for this kind of situation, or they are just dumb.
Personally, I don't like the notion of linking specific storms to global warming.
It seems like it requires more than that. The 1938 hurricane was apparently even worse. I am not saying global warming had nothing to do with it, but short-term weather events do not really predict climate. However, they do start people bickering about individual events, thereby obscuring the big picture. I do think we will see more of these events, but capturing that patterns seems like it needs to view longer periods of weather.
