It seems odd to push to make MJ legal when that is the number one drug abused by young people and we have pushed for nearly 50 years to get people to quit smoking.

MJ is one of the safest drugs out there. It's much safer than nearly every prescription drug on the market. It's also much safer than alcohol and cigarettes, both which are legal.

It's not odd to push for legalization of MJ. It makes a lot of sense.

I'd prefer people not feel the need to take any drugs in the first place. I never understood why people take drugs, do they really think falling for illusions will solve their problems? Eat chocolate or bananas, they give you happy feelings, too, and that without ruining your body and mind
Yeah, call me a nerd, I don't care

What are drug control costs? Do they include medication, care, social security, etc. for HIV patients?

IMO narcatoics nor marijuana should ever be legalized. And to be quite honest many of those psychotropic meds shouldn't be either

So the U. S. needs to do a better job of trying to imprison its way out of the drug problem?

That's fine that it is your opinion, would you care to back that up with some reasonable purpose for such a position?

TIA...

Quite to the contrary, I think only people who commit or hire someone to commit violent crimes should go to jail. For everyone else there should be punishment outside prisons.
But I am more the prevention kind of person anyway...
