Who is ruining this country, my vote, since you have it as an option, is Christian conservatives who don’t take the time to understand the real issues and try to push outdated puritan issues on the masses as they don’t have time to actually live by those same virtues and values. I answered "I don't know" for several reasons:

1) ALL of the listed groups have, in some way, had a hand in causing trouble and mayhem in America

2) Trying to distinguish who's done more damage is like trying to taste out the ingredients to Pepsi's "secret" recipe.

3) I don't like any extremists groups.

I vote for left-wing extremists as those most responsible for screwing up the country, if only because their excesses provoked the overreaction from right-wing extremists. A fundamental law of physics states that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Take out the "equal" part, and you've got today's poisoned politics.

The rest of the country -- the mainstream, if you will -- has been whipsawed between these two opposing forces for a long time. This phenomenon, combined with the money to be made by the media by keeping the two extremes at each other's throats, has created the level of disgust and cynicism so evident in contemporary society.

Nonetheless, I went with perhaps the broadest category: MoveOn.org / Media Matters / George Soros lackeys (SPs). Anyone who seriously thinks these people have America's best interests at heart must be smoking some wild weed!

The Lefty-fringe bloggers are venomous, hateful and full of rage. I've never seen such a constant stream of obscene, foaming-at-the-mouth vitriol injected into the political debate as happens daily on sites like DemocraticUnderground (the DUmmies), DailyKhaos, MoRon.org or the HuffandPuff Post. Makes me want to go take a shower anytime I read their filth.

Media Matters is little more than a front for the Clinton political machine, complete and primed for slime and character-assassination. And they wonder why we're such a "less civil" society?

George Soros is just plain evil. There's something I've always suspected about that guy...

All of them except for moderates and fiscal conservatives. Neither one of the two exists to a great extent anymore, so that's probably why. Neo cons are messing it up the most with their obscene spending, and the constant tug of war between the far left and the neo cons sours my stomach. It's like the majority of America has been fooled into thinking the two main plutocrat parties are all we have, and the "left right" fight keeps the so called "Debate" centered around these obscene "issues" such as abortion and gay marriage, neither which actually seem as if they are being discussed in DC. It would be different if either side were actually going to take action, instead of create a propaganda tool.
