Fearing that telling the American people before the election would ruin his re-election chances, Obama & Co. have decided not to tell the American people about a raft of new regulations he has planned for a second term.

As if it isn’t enough that the Obama administration is severely outpacing his predecessors in terms of regulation-output, the National Journal is out with a report detailing all of the new-and-exciting regulations the Obama administration is just waiting out the election to write. I don’t suppose this could have anything to do with why they’ve conspicuously failed to comply with the law by producing a regulatory outlook every six months, could it?

Quote:
Federal agencies are sitting on a pile of major health, environmental, and financial regulations that lobbyists, congressional staffers, and former administration officials say are being held back to avoid providing ammunition to Mitt Romney and other Republican critics.

...........

The administration has also failed to release a required regulatory outlook document, describing its regulatory agenda. Such documents are supposed to be published every six months; the most recent one was published in January, making this the longest lag between outlooks since the deadline schedule was created in 1994.

Yes, but it’s the “Republican obstructionism” preventing Obama from doing even more that is ostensibly the source of our crummy economy. Riiiiiiight.

Too bad they won't be there to see the work.

Following Federal Laws seems to be outside of Obama's scope.

I lost a bunch of links when my computer crashed, but these are what I'm finding with just a few minutes of looking on the internet;

The half-hour meeting in the Oval Office was not a negotiation; the president had decided against ratcheting up the ozone rule because of the cost and the uncertainty it would impose on industry and local governments. He clearly understood the scientific, legal and political implications. He told Ms. Jackson that she would have an opportunity to revisit the Clean Air Act standard in 2013 — if they were still in office. We are just not going to do this now, he said.

The White House announced the decision the next morning, infuriating environmental and public health advocates. They called it a bald surrender to business pressure, an act of political pandering and, most galling, a cold-blooded betrayal of a loyal constituency.

Re-election Strategy Is Tied to a Shift on Smog

0bama is not even releasing the regulatory outlook report because it is stuffed with dozens of economy and jobs killing regs.

The administration has also failed to release a required regulatory outlook document, describing its regulatory agenda. Such documents are supposed to be published every six months; the most recent one was published in January, making this the longest lag between outlooks since the deadline schedule was created in 1994.

In the business community, the anticipated surge of coming regulation has been likened to a tsunami. Business groups are worried about health care and environmental regulations, but also major outstanding labor rules. The agencies charged with implementing the Dodd-Frank financial reform law have routinely blown through legislative deadlines.

"There is a lot that's sitting, waiting to come out," said Daniel Bosch, manager of regulatory policy at the National Federation of Independent Business. NFIB estimates that there are more than 4,100 regulations in the pipeline. That list does not include the many anticipated regulations that are still with administration agencies.

This is a part of the economic instability that this wrecking ball of a president creates. People wonder why businesses are not hiring employees, and sitting on cash; this is why. They do not know what to expect and they are refusing to risk.

Obama Administration Sits on Key Regulations - NationalJournal.com

"President Obama has spent the past year punting on a slew of job-killing EPA regulations that will destroy millions of American jobs and cause energy prices to skyrocket even more," Senator Inhofe said. "From greenhouse gas regulations to water guidance to the tightening of the ozone standard, the Obama-EPA has delayed the implementation of rule after rule because they don't want all those pink slips and price spikes to hit until after the election. But President Obama's former climate czar Carol Browner was very clear about what's in store for next year: she told several green groups not to worry because President Obama has a big green 'to-do' list for 2013 so they'll get what they want. The radical environmental left may not need to worry but what about hard working Americans who will lose their jobs and be subjected to skyrocketing energy prices thanks to the Obama-EPA?

No wonder he never has stated what his plans for a 2nd term would be......he wouldn't stand a chance at all of being re-elected.
