How is it free when the government has to first pay for it?

I'm sure the righties will be upset that their tax dollars are going to help people in need. You know people that also pay taxes.
Good to hear gas is coming in to the area. I have friends and family in LI wanting to help volunteer, but, most are stranded at home trying to conserve their gas.

I'd even head up there but I'm too afraid I'll get stuck with no way home. Hopefully it all sorts itself out soon.

The majority of folks in Staten Island are righties and they need it the most. I'll go out on a limb and say they'll readily take it.

The government is the people. They already paid for it.

Hopefully someone out there videotapes all the right wingers taking the "government handouts" and asks them why they are doing so. The responses would likely make it the most epic video of the year

No... because it would then be people giving gas from their own wallets -- not politicians using other peoples' money to attract votes at election time.

I could only admire this if Obama gave up one of his luxury vacations and bought this gas himself but this is the taxpayers' money being used.

According to many everything is free.

And NOT throwing away BILLION$ on easily avoidable, unnecesary, unproductive wars of choice would free up many $$$ for relief/rebuilding efforts.

Just sayin'

Not throwing 40 billion dollars a month to the banks and 16 TRILLION to europe would help out too. Your chickenhawk president has no problem with either though.

I don't think right wingers are against relief recovery 'handouts'...now if gas were 'free' every week or at the first of the month for some, while others had to pay...that might cause some people to be against it.
