I am tired of being falsely described as someone who "hates" when nothing could be further from the truth - simply because I hod an opinion that differs from another.
Liberals - if you don't want your own BS thrown back in your face - which I have done the last couple of pages - then TONE DOWN THE RHETORIC.
Valuing the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman is just that - nothing more - and your false claims of "bigotry" and "hatred" are nothing but lies and noise.
You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Your tactics that you use to shut down honest debate our disgustug, pathetic, and dishonest.
If you want respect for your opinion - then start by respecting mine.
Oh please... I tolerate that you HAVE an opinion, but it's not up for debate whether or not your opinion is a hateful one (it is). When you say crap about gays being a threat to our children and society at large, without any evidence to back up your claim, that is the very definition of hate. So is just about everything else you say about gay people and liberals, but when we call you out for these comments, you call us "intolerant." To quote you, I am only speaking the truth.
Sorry, not all opinions are worthy of respect. Your opinion on this matter is as vile as the Klan's opinion on race relations, and does not deserve a seat at the table.
Excellent way to phrase it.
I simply do not understand religious people's perspective on this issue.
For most Christians, the only unforgivable sin is rejection of Jesus. YET, they are able to agree to and live in a society where people are free to make the choice of how to believe or not believe in Jesus, or follow some other religion.
It would seem logical that if you can do THAT, you can figure out a way to keep your beliefs to YOURSELF and those within your RELIGION, and allow others the freedom to live the way THEY see fit.
Then again, I'm sure many fundy Christians would vote tomorrow to outlaw all other religions in a second if they could. Which just explains the reason why we live in a constitutional, representative democracy in the first place I suppose.

Excellent post. I was just going to say the same thing myself.
My opinion is simply that marriage is a union between a man and a woman.
How is that "vile"?
I could say the same thing about your opinion.
No, that is not your only opinion... I once believed you when you claimed such a thing, but you have proven time & time again that your hatred for gay people goes way beyond marriage rights. Do you not recall saying they shouldn't work around children, because they are a threat? How is that about their right to marry? Same question for your belief they need "saving," practice a filthy "lifestyle," and should keep their sexuality a secret - oh, except when applying for a job, and then they should be required to disclose it!! Sorry, but these don't sound like you only have a problem with them marrying.
We aren't stupid, so stop trying to play us for fools!
In other words you are admitting to being intolerant - something which you decry others of doing - as you perceive so to be.
Hypocritical much?
You conservatives are real hung up on the word "tolerance."
Racism, sexism, homophobia.... NOT TOLERABLE.
It is not hypocritical to demand that someone TOLERATE other religions, while NOT tolerating those who want to outlaw every religion except Christianity.
Tolerance of other ideas, ways of life, etc. that do not infringe upon or oppress others? THAT is where tolerance is demanded.

Why do you keep saying these false things?
How many times do I have to say - I do not hate anybody.

Yes....that poster even went so far last week to tell a gay poster that her biological children should be removed from her home, based solely on her sexuality.
But the rest of us are the "haters?"
