American jailed in Cuba wants US to sign 'non-belligerency pact' to speed release - Open Channel

Quote:
Gross, who worked for an Agency for International Development contractor, was arrested by the Cubans on Dec. 3, 2009, and accused of smuggling sophisticated satellite and other telecommunications equipment into the country to give to the island’s tiny Jewish community. Gross has said he was only trying to increase Internet access in Cuba.
So he knew he was committing an illegal act under Cuban law? Unless he was acting at the direction of the U.S. Government, no pity. And if he was acting under U.S. direction as an agent of the goverment, he knew the risk he was taking in doing what he did. If he was a spy, then it's sad that our agents now appeal for release by crying "I wanna see my Mommy!" (James Bond never did that!) What a whiner!

If he was some lib do-gooder trying to make the world a better place by breaking another sovereign nation's laws, then Let. Him. Rot.

Can we send Jimmy Carter to get him out? Maybe the Cubans will keep him instead! The Cubans may be smart enough to get back five of their agents for one American.
