A lot of liberals don't use facts, are overly emotional and tend to throw a lot of hyperbole into their arguments. I am an independent, and open to what anyone has to say but if they start name calling, accusing, refusing to answer and lying it's much like arguing with a child. It's disrespectful and they would get a lot further with their points if they showed some general respect for people who don't think like them.
Piers Morgan is one example. He thinks he is superior because being irrational makes him more outraged about the shootings. Not true, we are all outraged about mass shooters but we disagree on how to deal with the problem. His yelling at and name calling people who had nothing to do with the CT shooting is stupid and immature. Now his opinion means nothing to me, even though I may have considered some of the things he has said in the past, I will never again, because he has shown what he really is.
Few strident liberals conduct themselves as respectable ladies and gentlemen. Alan Colmes is an exception, I can respect him even if I don't agree with him.

You demonstrate my point entirely. I hate nobody - but you throw that word about until it has virtually lost all meaning.
It is a dishonest tactic that allows you to avoid discussing the issues.

As well as flat out saying that your kids should be taken away for no other reason than you are in a same sex relationship.

I suspect Harrier was ignored a lot as a child because his whole purpose here on City Data seems to be to see how much attention he can get.
I think we all should make a united decision to just put him on ignore. This thread has somehow turned into being all about him, which I'm sure excites him to no end.
How come liberals use the word "Hate" to shut down debate with people whom they disagree?
You answered your own question- in order to shut down a debate before it even starts. That way only their side is given to the public and the other side is never heard from, or otherwise dismissed as "hateful, bigoted and/or racist". This helps them to control the media narrative and the culture.
