I just heard Michael Steele on MSNBC proclaim that "for the first time" in our history a President has been elected with a minority of the popular vote. Is it possible to get any dumber? I think this is about the 15th time that's happened

I believe it was "re-elected". He cited the example of Bush in 2000 as an "election".
We will rename this generation to the dumb generation. The man must have been living in a cave not to know how wrong that statement is.
I think I will turn off the computer and stop watching TV for the next four years. My yard needs a lot of work. That post right above mine is like splitting hairs. Maybe it is the double-dumb generation. Michele Obama better get some nutrition into these people to make their brains start working again. They all sound like they are on drugs.

Erm... actually nobody has ever won the presidency with a minority of the popular vote. Plurality, yes. Minority, no. Technicality I guess?

Then I guess Steele missed Clinton's 1996 election. And Wilson's 1916 election. Both occurred with less than 50% of the popular vote.
I suspect there were other such Presidential re-elections, too. I only looked at three in order to find those two examples.
