Obama is a small man. He runs on social issues like birth control. Gone are the days of the democratic party that ran on real issues. I can't imagine John F Kennedy talking about birth control and abortions as a way to get elected. Just is so low class for a president to make these issues so important as Iran spins their centrifuges to make an atomic bomb to destroy us. Obama is so small and his followers are small too. Obama needs Jayz and Bruce Springsteen to get the younger vote. You know this country is in trouble with rock stars as a selling point. Obama having yard sales to get campaign contributions. A disgrace for a president to do.

I hate handouts. The problem is food stamps and welfare are much smaller handouts than corporate tax breaks and wasteful defense contracts. I'm concerned about both, but the Republican handouts are much worse for America.

No, 59 million is more like 25-30% of Americans.

The US census has 229 million eligible voters in 2010. Someone else posted data that showed 180 million.
59 million decided the fate of the nation yesterday.

Do the math.

1. a tax break is not a handout...
2. if you think it is then lower the rate for all
3. defense contracts ae not handouts...unless you think the warriors fighing with nothing is what you want

we spend more on social services than we do on defense

[quote=workingclasshero;26848643]the NASI's were the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers’ Party) and they are very close to the MODERN liberal

the FACT is HISTORY has shown us what happens when you turn a blind eye.

simple things like 'nationalizing' corporations, nationalization of all trusts(banks),social security, eminate domain(agrarian reform) , removing the guns from the people, demand the end of capitolism, state(country) provided education, blame the jews (or the modern version 'the zionists'),.. 'fairness doctrine"( censorship of talk radia), redistribution of wealth).....COMMON GOOD BEFORE INDIVIDUAL GOOD .........

DO THESE SOUND FAMILIAR, YES THE ARE THE TALKING POINTS OF THE LIBERALS, THE DNC AND MOVEON.ORG..................
......
.....
....
THEY ARE ALSO A LARGE PART OF HITLERS 25 POINTS

Wrong, wrong wrong. You could not be wronger if you tried.

Firstly, the very first thing the Nazis did was to round up all known liberals and either kill them or put them in a concentration camp.

Secondly, the famous,"Follow the money" theory. Seeing how Germany was pretty much evenly split between left and right at the time and in fact the left had a numerical advantage, where did all the money come from that allowed Hitler to build a private army and over whelm the entire country buy violence. Let me be a little sarcastic here. It sure as hell did not come from the labour unions, liberal organizations or anything else with a single little hint of leftness to them. All those trillions of Marks came from the great German trusts. Iron and steel, Chemicals, utilities and electrical producers, Weapons of all kinds and the aircraft industry. I guess you must think it was because Hitler and the Nazi party was so socialist that they were able to talk Wall street into rebuilding the entire German war economy. Hitler enjoyed the almost 100% support of the German General Staff, probably the most right wing, conservative organization on earth.

Your post shows the same kind of thinking that fools your average GOPer into voting against their interests. It does not matter one single whit what Hitler said or wrote. His 25 points were just nothing at all but hot air and political expediency. He sdaid whatever he had to say to get the people on his side, PERIOD. And he only said that until he grabbed hold of total power. After that, he could say whatever he wanted to because he held the power of life and death over every single German.

Hitlers previous statements of a socialist message caused him trouble though because some of the Nazis took those things seriously. This trouble lead to the "Night of the long knives" when the entire left wing of the Nazi party was purged. About 1200 leaders of the SA and Brownshirts were murdered that night. That was the end of the S in the NSDAP. From that point on to the end of the regime the Nazis were at the extreme right end of the political spectrum. The masters of commerce in Germany planted the seeds of the wind in Hitler never realizing or understanding they would reap the whirlwind of near total distruction.

All over Europe the rise of the extreme right was ALWAYS a reaction by the 1% to their fear of all of the shades of RED from light pink liberals to scarlet red Communists. It was ALWAYS the various branches of the economic Royalty that put up the $$ to buy the guns the shirts and all the other symbols and tools needed to take power. The Rightists in France called the 3rd republic, "The ****" and had a slogan, "better Hitler than Blum", their elected socialist Premier. Well , they got their Hitler and they didn't think to much of him.
In Spain the big combines of agriculture, mining, tabacco and the RC church put up the money for Franco to come in and crush the people's leftist government.

Same thing in Portugal, Italy and Austria.

You see, the sun had pretty much set on this class of the 1% as a result of WW1. The carnage of that war was not enough for them to give it up and so we moved on to another cpuple of hundred million dead. That is the true leagacy of the right. Maintain your position at the top dispite any considerations. In Europe they learned their lesson. not so in the USA

You can say people ignored fiscal issues while voting but I just don't think that's true.
They voted for the welfare and food stamps as the coal industry is being shut down by Obama and the EPA..Obama taking over America through legislation. Keeping the food stamps coming is the main agenda of the voters in Ohio and PA coal country. Then the big cities love the big government programs so they can get the freebees too. Nothing new but Obama grew it to huge proportions during his 4 years in.

Go Liberals!!!
We've been a Third World country since 2002 or so. By any standard or definition you care to name.

Oligarchy of corporations running the government? Check.

Vast majority of the nation's wealth in the hands of a few wealthy families? Check.

Rightwing ideologues using any means necessary to destroy democracy in order to maintain their hold on power? Check.

More of the nation's wealth spent on maintaining the military in one day than on helping children, the sick and the elderly in a year? Check.

Rigid social policies designed to keep the population under control? Check.

Theocracy legislating morality for all? Check.

And you really believe things got worse last night ... what sad people you are.

Welcome To Liberal America
