Throughout the campaign, there were questions why Willard was seeking the White House when he apparently had no real convictions other than, as Mrs. Willard stated, “it’s our turn, it’s Mitt’s time,” and arrogance aside, there had to be some reason he sought the highest office in the land, and it appears there was at least one very specific reason the public was not aware of.

It is absolutely true that Romney was looking forward to cutting his own tax liability to zero, privatizing the federal government, handing the Social Security Trust to Wall Street, and waging perpetual war, but with a plethora of investigations and allegations of corruption into his finances on the horizon, appointing a friendly Attorney General was certainly a primary reason for seeking the presidency.

To date, Romney’s legal troubles include fallacious FEC and SEC disclosures, an investigation into him and his son’s connection to an $8.5 billion Ponzi scheme, and concealing over $15 million from the auto-bailout, and now his surrogate’s malfeasance and perjury in the eToys bankruptcy case.

Post Election Romney and Bain Face a Federal Corruption and Perjury Hearing

And now we see what Romney's "vision" for the future was--to use the office of the President to quash investigations brewing against him. The more we know about this guy, the slimier he gets.

I don't know anything about these claims.

Romney attended a $50K/couple fund raising dinner, in Jerusalem, hosted by Sheldon Adelson. This is the same Adelson who donated $57 million to the Romney campaign Super Pac. Maybe he expected Romney to show his gratitude and appoint a new attorney general more inclined to not dig too deep into his own criminal activities.

Reminds me of Romney's "vision" for the auto industry, which if following his advice would have been "ripe for harvest" by Bain. What a "man of the people" he is - and how deceptive saying he wanted nothing but the best for that industry.
