Agreed. Survivor and spousal benefits should be eliminated. This was implemented when most families had one wage earner and is no longer needed in two income "partnerships". Each person should be entitled to their SS benefits based on their individual work history; not on their partners. Gay, straight, married or not...SS should be an individual benefit.
The USG has done some pretty heavy advertising for existing programs.
Food Stamp usage hits a new high each month and the lifeline program grew 476% in 3 years.
They didn't change laws to expand the programs but they did advertise heavily to expand the numbers that use the programs.
I guess the program is OK as long as people that need it, don't know about it?

The USG "forgot" to implement a central database to track users and their plans and with several different cell phone companies doing lifeline program these people figured out pretty quick they could get multiple phones/plans FOR FREE.

Welfare raises for people who didn't earn their welfare benefits, yet no raise for two years for the seniors who worked for their benefits. The raise for next year will be the lowest of any prior year not counting the years the seniors got NOTHING AND THAT WAS A FIRST TOO all under Obama.
Giving health care to everyone yet cutting Medicare to the seniors. Many doctors including my own doctor may decide to leave his profession.
Doctors are scarce today. I wanted to go to a specialist and was offered to see a nurse. Sorry, I pay for my health care and want to see a doctor. It will become impossible to see a doctor with millions more getting free or low coverage under Obamacare. Good luck if it is an emergency!
Obama is a man who did NOTHING for NJ as my town hit by Sandy only has 15% power 11 days after the storm. After the unions send back many pole workers without a union card many people are freezing here with a foot of snow on the ground , and NO HEAT FOR 11 DAYS!! Thanks to the dumb people who really believes Obama did something for us in NJ and NY.. He didn't do anything!! Obama is a loser and always will be and the people who voted for him are STUPID!

Believe it or not, there are still stay at home mothers that need support when their working spouse dies. That was the purpose of survivor benefits from the start. Not everyone is going to retire to Chang Mai.

There's nothing wrong with letting people know about the programs designed to help ensure KIDS and FAMILIES have enough to eat. What kind of evil are you, anyway? Guess people should get inadequate nutrition because of your sick ideology!

And FWIW, the fact that you think there's nothing wrong with the fact that millions have to be uninsured so you don't have to wait a bit longer to see a doctor is ANOTHER disgusting attitude unbecoming of someone who pretends to be a good little Xtian solider.
(And btw, maybe your doctor is looking for an excuse to move out of NJ. I also have been to at least two specialists recently.... virtually no wait time. In and out of the dermatologist in half an hour.)

Huntsville originally sent two three-man bucket crews and one three-man pole-setting crew to Seaside Heights, but that all nine had since been dispatched to Long Island, Yell said.
"The reason we're not working with the New Jersey system is that they had all the crews they could handle," he said.
The fact that those crews are not unionized did not have any effect, he said.
"They didn't have any problems with us," he said.
