Democracy will survive ... barely ... but the Oligarchs will always try to undermine it.

Sure. Democracy will not and has never worked in this country, we are a Constitutional Republic, at least we were. Democracy isn't compatable with Sharia either, and that is the direction we are going, ready or not. Jihad views all kafirs (unbelievers) as the enemy, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindu's and secularists - it has been so for 1200 years, that won't change tomorrow.

Another genius who fails to comprehend that we are noth a democracy and a republic -- the latter being a subset of the former in the same way that dogs are a subset of mammals.

Here -- feel free to get a clue:

You should probably sue every civics teacher you've ever had for malpractice. You've obviously got an open and shut case!

Actually, it's both a representative democracy and a constitutional republic.

Your schooling is lacking factual content. If your parents paid for that education, they got ripped off. If it was public, we should all be ashamed.

According to the Webster-Merriman dictionary, a Democracy is " a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly." Contrary to what many people believe, the United States is not and never was set up to be a Democracy.

What we have is corporatism or corruptocracy. Our representatives don't represent us, they represent their lobbyists and those that pay to keep them in office. (Unions, Wall St, banks and special interest groups).

There ya go again with that any one who didnt vote your way are all welfare bums and out to get free stuff, that demographic you casually refer to comprises the best part of 60 million people most of whom are hard working middle class and poor people, if your party wants any hope at the Presidency in 2016 vacuous disrespectful attitudes like this rightwing generated bs has to be eliminated and respect for fellow Americans put in its place.

The US will break up into several nations within 25 years. Hopefully one of these nations will allow voting rights only to property holders and military personnel. No one who is on the government dole or pays no taxes should be allowed to vote.

This will be all for the better- all the freeloaders can be in a few nations and those who want to work in another. Hard working free people will not stand by and be fleeced forever- it is against human nature.
Is this like your prediction that Oregon was gonna go Red this election? You don't have a great track record with making predictions.
