[MOD CUT/off topic]
Second, I'm an agnostic, which basically means that while I believe in God, I don't base my beliefs on a 1500 year old book that was written by religious zealots and which doesn't include anything that the Holy Roman Church felt would degrade their power base.
However, if you want to start talking about the bible, I'll throw out Matthew 7:1.
This is a controversial topic which is why it fits here.
If it were temple prostitution it would have said that. There are clear references to temples in the Bible, and to prostitution in the Bible.
But I understand that liberals tend to remove and rewrite things if it doesn't fit their view. Even the Bible.
Agreed. There are many controversies in the Bible and different ways to interpret passages (which is why we have so many Christian denominations), but I don't see how Romans 1 is talking about temple prostitution and I have asked numerous liberals to prove it to me and they couldn't. I would still like to learn how that passage can be taken to mean temple prostitution.
It's no different with the Bible than it is with the modern day media. If anything doesn't fit into the liberal narrative they are trying to create, it will be rejected, destroyed or distorted in some manner.
The thing with Romans 1:18-31 is that Christians who read it to prove that homosexuality is wrong are completely missing the point of Romans 1:18-31. This passage is a vivid description of the evil that mankind exhibits from falling away from God. They knew Him, but ignored Him, and started doing all sorts of bad stuff. God is angry about that too. Yes, homosexual relations are included in this bad stuff, but that's not what it's about.
So I think that using scripture simply to prove what you want to believe is a dangerous precedent.

You are aware, are you not, that the Bible was not written in English?
