So how would you propose dealing with racism at such an early age? Should we just let it slide and consider it as children being young and dumb?
I don't know. I am not in the changing minds mode of dealing with racism. The white American racial identity was created by slave owners to justify slavery and to unite poor nonslave owning whites to support the institution of slavery.
That means the American white racial identity was created for the sole purpose of uniting white people based on a belief of racial superiority over and hatred towards black people. The whole creation of these racial categories starts and ends with that at its core.
I am more in the strong government enforcement mode to insure that racists don't hinder Americans from advancing.
This is one volatile taboo subject like religion and politics, that we have tried as a society to keep under the table because we want to blame someone else for their shabby histories. But we can't. Kids grow up overhearing racist parents make insulting racial remarks about people who may look or behave unlike them. Or they observe the difference in how they might unwittingly deal with some people. All of it influences personal development and value system which can affect behavior negatively.
That assumption comes from the fact that neither blacks or latinos assume that their ethnicity is superior to anyones elses. Sinces whites have always had control (superiority) in this country it would be easy for them believe that they are superior to all other races, and therefore extend that belief economically and physically through force if needed.

It's too bad Obama let this happen, and in fact has encouraged a renewal to racism. There will be blood.
Which means it's too bad Obama brought racism back to pre 1960 levels because he is an arrogant puppet, who thinks a race war in the USA will get him more power.
He hasn't figured out it is a war he can't win if he gets it started. He was only 3 years old at the time malcom X and MLK walked the streets of Birmingham.
And at that he was growing up in a foreign country, as a foreigner. What he knows of 'American today could all be placed on the point of a pin.. leaving room over for other things.
He hasn't a clue as to what American means and at this point probably never will.
Just like in history it is 'UNPRECEDENTED' that a newly elected pres would gloat and say 'I Win' over and over as he has...
At this point i fear a race war in the USA, I fear something will happen to that FOOL and Biden yet a worse FOOL will take his place and more.
The left has totally lost it..... The one thing i am pretty sure of now is the USA is dead..... I say to that Bring it on.... lets end it and start anew.

You damned well KNOW that much of the racial tension was asleep if nothing else during the Clinton and Regan years... bush too, and Obama being the chumpy little fool he is and his notions of being ever so superior since he IS the 176 day wonder and we still all wonder where he came from..... has ordered up and created this tension....
