Because someone making $40K per year shouldn't be paying proportionately more than someone making $40 million. The rich shouldn't be sucking off the sweat of the poor and middle class.
Quit get food stamps and welfare you will make more
It is very sad that our system is set up that way. I used to work the pharmacy and liquer/lottery counters at a drug store. I wasn't allowed to cash welfare checks at the lottery/liquer counter. They'd get in line at the pharmacy line, have me cash their welfare checks and then get in line at the liquer counter and, I kid you NOT, spend it all on booze and lottery tickets. Seriously, we need to pass a law that says someone one welfare cannot win the lottery. They shouldn't be playing the lottery or drinking away the money we send them.

Embrace the new America why work when the rich will pay us with food stamps healthcare and welfare to not work. This way there is more work for the rich so they can keep paying taxes so we can not work
The truly wealthy will leave the US. Why stay in a country that is going to penalize them for working hard? If our country tries to gouge them, they will leave and take their money with them. I know that I am sick and tired of people not working and expecting something for nothing.
Because the 99% don't have any more money and they want their social programs.
Somebody has to pay so it might as well be those left with some money in their pockets.
then start dropping the social programs. it is not like they are constituional anyways.
I'm not sure if they are being asked to pay more or pay no less than the average American.
