So what, women should have their tubes tied or something? If you don't want kids make it physically impossible for it to happen, then we won't need abortion.
Again, if I used your argument against abortion, I'd be crazy and a woman hater.
I agree with Joe. There's no point in saying that it isn't fair that men don't have the same options once conception has occurred. We don't.
The child has no say at all in it.
If you create a child, you are responsible for it.
Be a man.
It use to be that women didn't have a say in whether they had sex with their husbands. A husband legally couldn't rape his wife. Be a dutiful wife and honor your vows. Woman up.
You do the time and you have to pay for the crime.
Guys should have a vasectomy before they ever have "just sex".
Later, if he chooses to be a father and the financial responsibility of
that, he can have the operation reversed.
The procedure only costs a couple hundred dollars and it sure would
save a guy a lot of grief in the long run.
Not to mention what a good time they could have when not worried
about things like pregnancy, or being "trapped" by a night of lust.
See that's the thing. You DON'T have to do the time. If you're a woman. If you're a woman you don't have to do the time. You can get pregnant and get an abortion no questions asked. It doesn't matter why. Medical, religious, or because you'd have to drop out of school. Women have separated the act of sex, from the act of parenthood, legally through the act of abortion, or adoption.
Men should have the same option. Telling men this is the way it is and always will be because every law we have was created at the nations founding and has never and will never change is absurd. If you shamed women for having sex when they can't take care of a child you're evil. Shaming men for the exact same reasons however is A-Ok.
We also need to stop arguing pro-life vs Pro-choice in here. Because that's not the issue. We aren't arguing the childs right, because the child before a certain point HAS NO RIGHTS. Their rights are whatever the mother deems them to be. We're arguing something totally different.
Because of anatomy, tubal ligation is much more expensive and high risk
of complication.
Fine, let's say we come up with something safer. Something perfectly safe. The principle still applies. If you neglect to have this procedure which makes you incapable of having children, and there is NO medical risk to your health for delivering a child, should be make abortion illegal?
No, womens rights, reproductive rights, blah blah blah.
If you don't want kids make it physically impossible for it to happen, then we won't need abortion.
I'm totally on board with not needing abortion. Absolutely, 100%.
Meh. I believe there are guys and there are men. Men accept responsibility. One way to do that is to get snipped. Keep trying to sell your contract though. Late night TV proves that people in this country will buy anything.
Life isn't fair, people have unwanted babies all the time, so why should a man have to pay for a baby, but a woman gets to choose whether she wants the baby or not?
When men get the opportunity to become incubators for 9 months, then they will get the opportunity to choose whether or not they want to be an incubator. Until then, only women are able to make that choice.
That's "why" a man can't make the choice to 'opt out'.
See, you're still chiming about whether abortion should be legal. Let it go, that fight is lost. It is. It's done. Women fought for the right to abortion. To say I can't afford a child, I'm not ready. And everyday it happens by the thousands.
Just because a women doesn't want to take that option, does not change the fact that IT IS AN OPTION. If you choose the alternative, raise the child yourself, or adoption, that is your choice. The man has made his. He has a child out their he will never know.
If the woman chooses to go through with the pregnancy, and decides no to adopt, she should accept responsibility for her choice. Again, I understand why women don't want to exercise their right to have an abortion, but you can't pretend it isn't an option because it's not appealing.

She can opt out. She can have an abortion. That's her right. If she chooses not to exercise it, that's her choice.
What are you even arguing? Money, or having to carry a baby for 9 months?
I have a son and he's not having sex yet, but we have discussed
the option of a vasectomy. It's no different than going to a dentist
IMO. Preventative Care.
A vasectomy reversal is quite complicated and has a low success rate. Why would you discuss this option, unless your son never wants to have children?
It's more like a pulling all your teeth rather than having them cleaned.
